History

Greenboathouse Books, founded by Jason Dewinetz, was a small digital press producing chapbooks and an online poetry archive. With the mandate to feature and make accessible new and powerful writers, the company also ran a summer reading series. Dewinetz started the publishing venture in 1999 out of a boathouse built by his great-grandfather on the shore of Okanagan Lake near Vernon, B.C. With a shift towards letterpress production in 2008, Greenboathouse Books became Greenboathouse Press.
