Item appears to have been taken out of an album. Descriptive information is on a black border added later, such as TR N 11 P.13.
Label on the left side says “Cut down, Alex Russell, see 'Herald' Feb. 19 1886".
Label on the top says “GEORGIA st, 1886, log of famous stump at lane cor. Granville & Seymour, 10’4”, some say stump 14’4” widest part, looking N.W. to forest on Burrard. Log lay true N & S across N.E. cor. Granville. J.W. Horne on top. Photo belonged to Dr. J.M. Lefevre. Approx date, fall 1886. JSM”.
