Biographical history

Robert Bonner was a Canadian lawyer, politician, and corporate executive. He pursued his career working in the British Columbia government and in B.C.-based companies MacMillan Bloedel and BC Hydro. He was Attorney General of British Columbia from 1952-1968 as a member of the BC Social Credit Party.

Custodial history

Records were in the custody of Barbara Bonner, wife of Robert Bonner, until their acquisition by Simon Fraser University Library Special Collections and Rare Books in 2005. Further materials were acquired in 2011.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of records relating to Bonner's time as Attorney General of the Province of British Columbia in the B.C. Social Credit Government of W.A.C. Bennett. They include newsclippings, budgets, books, papers, and speeches.
