Rebecka Sheffield was born in Canada. She holds a BA (1998) in Women’s and Gender Studies and Sociology from the University of Saskatchewan and a MISt (2009) in Archives and Records Management and a PhD (2015) in Information Studies from the University of Toronto. She has given numerous presentations and published several academic articles on topics such as LGBTQ Archives & Heritage, Queer & Feminist Social Movements, and Sexual Diversity Studies.
