Physical condition

Immediate source of acquisition

The VP Academic's Office has always maintained a separate classification category for "Committees" but the groupings used to subdivide it have varied over the years. The present arrangement into sub- and sub-sub-series is based on the system in place in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Sub- and sub-sub-series are generally arranged chronologically. File lists are arranged chronologically.

Associated materials

The VP Academic's Office also maintained a parallel series for material relating to university committees under "Topical files and reports"; see:

F-200-10-3, Topical files and reports. University committees and task forces (1979-1995).

Note also that although the VP Academic's Office filed most committee material in either of these two series (the present series and F-200-10-3), some committee records and correspondence were also filed in other locations in the classification plan (e.g. President's advisory committees under "President's Office"). See Appendix A, Access Points Index, to cross-reference archival series by committee name.
