Series documents the imprisonment of Sons of Freedom convicts at Piers Island Penitentiary between 1932 and 1934, from its initial stage in search for an island to set up the prison to determining the conditions for release of the prisoners. The records, the majority of which consist of correspondence between senior officials, shed light on the construction and management of the prison, as well as the problems that the federal prison system encountered regarding both personnel and prisoners.
Series consists of textual records including correspondence, telegrams, and memoranda, most of which were written to or by H. W. Cooper. The remainder of the records were created by other authorities, prisoners, and relatives of prisoners. Series also contains a warrant written by J. Cartmel and a chronology written in shorthand by H. W. Cooper. Also included in the series is an empty manila envelope. The records in this series have been arranged into the following three files: 1932; 1933; and 1934.

Series displays photographs taken on Piers Island showing the officers, guards, and matrons; male and female prisoners visiting through a fence that separates men’s and women’s compounds; female prisoners working; penitentiary buildings; penitentiary perimeter; vessel used for transferring prisoners; and a patrol boat. As there are no dates recorded for these photographs, it is not possible to determine the exact dates they were taken; however, based on the subject matter, it is assumed that dates of creation are between 1932 and 1934.

Also included in the series are three film reels for "California Dreamin’" (1968) an hour-long documentary for CTV about the migration of Canadian talent to Hollywood, and Klenman’s story ideas for several popular television series, including "Bonanza", "Daniel Boone", "The F.B.I.", "Felony Squad", "The Fugitive", "Jericho", "Judd for the Defense", "The Invaders", "The Iron Horse", "I Spy", "It Takes a Thief", "Mannix", "Mission Impossible", "The Outsider", "Run for Your Life", "Star Trek" and "Tarzan".

Series consists of correspondence, photographs, promotional material, magazine and newspaper articles, and other material accumulated by Norman Klenman relating to his and Daryl Duke’s establishment, ownership and management of CKVU-TV. Includes records relating to the 1975 application to the CRTC; programming, events and staffing issues; and the takeover of the station by CanWest in 1987.

Series also contains research Krawczyk performed while preparing for her court cases. There are numerous copies of diverse legal acts and other court case examples from throughout North America.

Local, national, and international incoming and outgoing correspondence is included in this series. Some of the correspondence and its accompanying materials were received from Krawczyk’s family members and friends, while others are from strangers who read about her experiences in newspapers throughout the world. Some correspondence also includes proof samples of Krawczyk’s publications.

The series consists of five of her published books, correspondence, poetry, manuscripts, her published magazine articles, interview transcripts, business cards, pamphlets, speech notes, and notices of upcoming event. File also includes two floppy disks and financial records related to the publication of her works.

Series consists of mission statements, flyers, a paper flag, song lyrics, correspondence, pamphlets, booklets, newspaper clippings, journals, three calendars, speeches, handwritten notes, a membership list, and envelopes for Women in the Woods, the Canadian Party of Women, and other community activism groups Krawczyk was involved with during the mid-1990s to 2007. Series also contains textile records, including a Prison Justice Day t-shirt, flags, hats, a tote bag, and an aboriginal bead blanket. A large portion of the series relates to the activities of Women in the Woods and Betty’s political movements.

Series consists of records and meeting minutes pertaining to Occupy Vancouver committees: General Assembly, Volunteer Coordinating Committee, Info Tent, Security and Safe Guard Unit. It includes also Occupy Vancouver leaflets, booklets, by-laws and general records related to day-to-day activities.

Also included in the series are two files that attest to Harry Jerome’s involvement in national athletic programming for youth: Sports Canada, including the Cross-Canada Sports Demonstration, and the Premier’s Sports Award Program.
