Student Services

Sub-series consists of records relating to the operation and daily administration of Student Services on campus and includes Dean's correspondence with student services offices, members of the university community, and external organizations; planning documents, staff memoranda; and project proposals. Student Services Departments

Sub-series consists of records relating to the operation and daily administration of Student Services Departments on campus and includes Dean's correspondence with student services departments, members of the university community, and external organizations; planning documents, staff memoranda; annual reports; and project proposals. Records include correspondence and working papers, agendas and minutes, reports, and financial statements.

General Correspondence

Sub-series consists of records relating to the Dean's development and administration of student services on campus and includes correspondence with members of the university community including the President, Vice-President Administration, Vice-President Academic, faculty, and student services staff; correspondence with external organizations including the YWCA, Workman's Compensation Board, Selkirk College, Capilano College, Union Theological College, and the University of Lethbridge; student surveys and interviews; admissions policies and grading procedures; student orientation; development of the anti-calendar; budgets; a proposal for a division of University Services; and a Vancouver Life magazine article on mature students at SFU. Records include correspondence and working papers, meeting agendas and minutes, financial statements, reports, and publications.

Simon Fraser Student Society

Sub-series consists of records relating to the Dean's interaction with the Simon Fraser Student Society and includes funding proposals for Student Society-led activities; policy development; and correspondence with campus organizations including the Phrateres Club, the United Nations Association, Debating Society, Physics Club, Sports Car Club, C.K.S.F. Radio, Outdoor Club, and the International Association Club. Records include correspondence and working papers, publications, press releases, reports and financial statements.

Students

Sub-series consists of records relating to the administration and support of students and organizations on campus and includes documents about student employment; rotunda use and renovation; the C.K.S.F. radio station; student profile studies and surveys; exit interviews; student handbooks; and the readmission of students via the special semester project. Also included is Stewart's correspondence with the Student Society, The Peak, and the Women's Centre. Records include correspondence and working papers, reports, financial statements, architectural plans, and publications.

Projects and Functions

Sub-series consists of records relating to projects and functions carried out by Student Services. and includes correspondence with the campus community and external organizations. Activities documented include production of student handbooks; campus open house planning and anniversary events and orientation packages; student surveys and parent newsletters. Specific projects include developing campus services for handicapped and learning disabled students; the Futures program for high school students; administration of the Nightline crisis counselling service; overseeing the Leadership Development program along with related workshops and conferences; support for university choirs; policy and program development for the Alcohol and Drug Program and the sexual harassment prevention program; administration of the Work Study and Youth Employment Programs; and Stewart's membership on the Diamond Club Executive. Also included are records relating to the Interactive Videodisc Career Planning Project; the Challenge Program; and the University Centre Building and Food Services. Records include correspondence and working papers, agendas and minutes, budgets, reports, publications, and photographs.

University Committees

Sub-series consists of records relating to the funding of the Student Services department and the programs it administers. Records include correspondence and working papers, budgets and financial summaries.

University Correspondence

Sub-series consists of records relating to daily correspondence with the university community and includes union notices, salary and position negotiations, strike correspondence, policies and procedures, "AUCE 2 News Bulletins" and "Bulletin Board," information brochures, and a copy of the contract "Articles of Agreement between SFU and the Association of University and College Employees, Local 2." Also included are student and alumni questionnaires and survey statistics. Records include correspondence and working papers, agendas and minutes, reports, surveys, contracts, newsletters, and publications.
