Series consists of legal reports, court statements, affidavits, legal notices, court speeches, financial papers, request forms, behavioral reports, and government correspondence with Betty Krawczyk. Series also contains research Krawczyk performed while preparing for her court cases. There are numerous copies of diverse legal acts and other court case examples from throughout North America.

Newspaper clippings and media coverage

Series consists of newspaper clippings, articles from magazines, print-outs of online articles, flyers for the Burnaby Correctional Institute for Women Library, pamphlets, newsletters, associated correspondence, and press releases related to Betty Krawczyk’s environmental activities, prison sentence, and court case. Reviews of Betty’s published works are included in the series. Series also contains print copies of Betty’s blog posts. There is coverage of various community activism groups, including aboriginal issues in British Columbia. Some of the records are photocopies and photographs.

CKVU records

Series consists of correspondence, photographs, promotional material, magazine and newspaper articles, and other material accumulated by Norman Klenman relating to his and Daryl Duke’s establishment, ownership and management of CKVU-TV. Includes records relating to the 1975 application to the CRTC; programming, events and staffing issues; and the takeover of the station by CanWest in 1987.

[Paper box]

Item is a paper box with two Occupy Vancouver pins. On the front of the box is written “The General Assembly Field Manual from Madrid [Large font copies in blue and black].”

[Photographs]

The file includes nine photographs of the same Occupy Vancouver group of activists taken from different angles, and one photograph of a single protester. No dates or names are given.

[Journal]

Item is a journal with drawings of faces. Each face has a name on top. Inside the journal there is a loose paper on which is written “pamphlets, petitions, etc. Material for distribution.”

Fonds consists of correspondence, scripts, screenplays, newsletters, articles, films and other records created or accumulated by Norman Klenman over the course of his career as a journalist, film and television writer and producer, and the joint owner of the CKVU television station. The records include draft and final version scripts and screenplays and related records for radio, television, and film (both produced and unproduced). Also included is correspondence, agreements and financial and project-related records of various production companies of which Klenman was a joint owner, in particular Galanty Productions Limited (Galanty Limited). The fonds also contains some personal records; these include correspondence pertaining to Klenman’s career, as well as articles and other writings by Klenman. The records have been arranged into the following six series: Personal records (2002-2010); Articles and general writings (1986-2006); Business files (1952-2004); General scripts, screenplays and related records ([ca. 1946]-2010); Television scripts, screenplays and related records (1956-2010); Film scripts, screenplays and related records (1953-2008); and CKVU records (1958-2011).

Klenman, Norman

[Occupy Vancouver photographs and videos]

The file consists of eighteen digital videos and two copies of twenty-five digital photographs (total of fifty digital photographs) of the Occupy Vancouver movement made on October 15, 2011 by Sue Wilson. It includes images of the Raging Grannies, activists’ activities, policemen, posters and media.

Community activism records

The series documents the activities of community activism groups associated with Betty Krawczyk. Series consists of mission statements, flyers, a paper flag, song lyrics, correspondence, pamphlets, booklets, newspaper clippings, journals, three calendars, speeches, handwritten notes, a membership list, and envelopes for Women in the Woods, the Canadian Party of Women, and other community activism groups Krawczyk was involved with during the mid-1990s to 2007. Series also contains textile records, including a Prison Justice Day t-shirt, flags, hats, a tote bag, and an aboriginal bead blanket. A large portion of the series relates to the activities of Women in the Woods and Betty’s political movements.

Series consists of records related to Duke’s personal and administrative affairs. This series includes:

Fonds consists of the administrative records of the School, copies of communications and promotional materials, and audio recordings of talks and readings. Records in the fonds include correspondence, grant applications, collective meeting minutes, budgets and annual financial reports. Personal journals

Series consists of notebooks, journals, notes and press clippings. From about 1945 to 2005 Duke made nearly daily entries in notebooks. These notebooks contain Duke’s thoughts, observations and concepts for future projects ranging from articles to screenplays, legal proceedings, housing plans and travel accounts.

Essays and articles

Series consists of drafts, final versions, correspondence, notes and clippings related to Duke’s work as an essayist.
