The records include draft and final version scripts and screenplays and related records for radio, television, and film (both produced and unproduced). Also included is correspondence, agreements and financial and project-related records of various production companies of which Klenman was a joint owner, in particular Galanty Productions Limited (Galanty Limited). The fonds also contains some personal records; these include correspondence pertaining to Klenman’s career, as well as articles and other writings by Klenman. The records have been arranged into the following six series: Personal records (2002-2010); Articles and general writings (1986-2006); Business files (1952-2004); General scripts, screenplays and related records ([ca. 1946]-2010); Television scripts, screenplays and related records (1956-2010); Film scripts, screenplays and related records (1953-2008); and CKVU records (1958-2011).

Series consists of two pamphlets associated with the Arthur Erickson memorial at Simon Fraser University, which took place on May 20, 2009.

Community activism records

The series documents the activities of community activism groups associated with Betty Krawczyk. Series consists of mission statements, flyers, a paper flag, song lyrics, correspondence, pamphlets, booklets, newspaper clippings, journals, three calendars, speeches, handwritten notes, a membership list, and envelopes for Women in the Woods, the Canadian Party of Women, and other community activism groups Krawczyk was involved with during the mid-1990s to 2007. Series also contains textile records, including a Prison Justice Day t-shirt, flags, hats, a tote bag, and an aboriginal bead blanket. A large portion of the series relates to the activities of Women in the Woods and Betty’s political movements.

“Woodsmen of the West” screenplays and related records

Sub-series consists of records relating to Norman Klenman’s development of a screenplay for a feature film titled “Woodsmen of the West,” inspired by M. Allerdale Grainger’s memoir of the British Columbia coast in 1908, and plans for its production. Records include several screenplay drafts, notes and ideas, research material, contracts, and production budget and casting proposals.

Personal journals

Series consists of notebooks, journals, notes and press clippings. From about 1945 to 2005 Duke made nearly daily entries in notebooks. These notebooks contain Duke’s thoughts, observations and concepts for future projects ranging from articles to screenplays, legal proceedings, housing plans and travel accounts.

Paul Keenleyside Social Credit collection

This collection contains records of the British Columbia Social Credit Party, predominantly in relation to the operations of Burnaby-Edmonds constituency. The collection includes records relating to other selected ridings where by-elections took place and party wide records relating to provincial elections. A considerable amount of records relates to the Social Credit Party leadership campaigns, party annual conventions and BC Young Socred organization. The majority of records cover period between 1978 and 1996, but some records reach as far as 1950 and 2005.

The collection contains administrative and day to day operations records such as memos, correspondence, membership list, contact lists, organizational constitution and by-laws, statements, committees’ minutes, and messages. In addition, the collection contains handbooks, manuals, reports and informational booklets intended to instruct candidates and volunteers on campaigning methods and strategies. Many of these records provide insight into shaping and evolving of the policies and electoral platforms of the Social Credit Party. In addition, the collection contains provincial election and party leadership campaign managing records that include candidate profiles and lists, internal correspondence and memos, and external use records intended for the promotion of the Social Credit Party and its candidates. The collection also includes a number of newspaper clippings, party newsletters, articles, posters, photographs, campaign buttons, video and sound recordings of events and promotional material.
