The fonds of the Department of Political Science, Sociology and Anthropology consists of records created and received in the course of the administration of the Department and the carrying out of its functions of providing instruction and promoting research. The activities documented include policy and procedures development; the planning, initiation and administration of curricula and programs; departmental and faculty meetings; faculty salary, appointment, promotion and tenure deliberations; departmental reviews; and the publication of journals and reports. The types of documents include meeting agenda, correspondence, course outlines and examinations, an external review, faculty files, memoranda, minutes of meetings, and reports.

The records consist chiefly of departmental administrative files (1965-1985), minutes of departmental meetings (1965-1973), records relating to research activities of faculty (1965-1985), personnel records (1965-1985), the Physics Summer School (1966-1979), and correspondence of the Chair (1971-1986). The activities documented include policy and procedures development; the planning, initiation and administration of curriculum and programs; departmental and faculty meetings; faculty salary, appointment, promotion and tenure deliberations; departmental reviews; and the publication of journals and reports. The types of documents include correspondence, course outlines and examinations, an external review, faculty case files, memoranda, agenda and minutes of meetings, and reports.

The files were arranged by the Department according to two different file classification systems. This original order has been maintained. Most of the records are arranged according to the first system, which was therefore used to identify series. Series that can be found in both systems were drawn together intellectually by the archivist and described as one series although their physical order has been maintained as received.

Fonds consists of records of the Academic Planner for SFU. Fonds includes, correspondence, policies, reference material, and other materials. Materials relate to the formation of University policies, the appointment of University faculty and staff, the dissemination of information regarding SFU through various media outlets, and other functions.

The fonds consists of records relating to the academic development of the Faculty of Science and the departmental administration of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Activities, topics and events documented include the Dean's correspondence with faculty and departmental chairs; correspondence with the university community, local and international science professionals, and provincial and national organizations; departmental reviews; participation on university committees and the Management Council of the Western Canadian Universities Marine Biological Society; liaison with university research institutes; and construction of the South Science Building on campus.

The types of documents include meeting agendas, minutes, and supporting papers; correspondence and reports; annual reports; budgets and financial working papers; speeches; policies and procedures; bound architectural drawings; and publications including newsletters, pamphlets, journals, conference programs, posters, research summaries, and a calendar.

The fonds consists of records created, received and collected by Gordon M. Shrum. Records reflect his involvement with Simon Fraser University as Chancellor, his contribution to building the new university and his interest in education and SFU after he retired as Chancellor. Includes correspondence, reports, briefs, memoranda, photographs, architectural drawings, publications, and newspaper clippings.

The fonds consists of samples of handmade papers, paste papers, and drafts of Lissel's paste paper sample book, TOPOS, published in 2006. The fonds is arranged into the following two series: handmade papers and paste papers.

Collection consists of research material gathered by Johnston for his book "The Voyage of the Komagata Maru: The Sikh Challenge to Canada's Colour Bar" (1979; 1989) and subsequent articles and books about Sikhs in Canada, including (with Tara Singh Bains) "The Four Quarters of the Night: The Life-Journey of an Emigrant Sikh" (1995) and "Jewels of the Qila: The Remarkable Story of an Indo-Canadian Family" (2011). Records in the collection are primarily of photocopied and microfilmed material from archival material held by institutions, newspapers and journals, and notes and drafts.

Fonds consists of correspondence, drafts, articles, reviews, and other records created and accumulated by Anita Rau Badami in the course of her career as a writer. Includes drafts of her first three novels: Tamarind Mem (1997), The Hero’s Walk and Can You Hear the Nightbird Call?. There are no records related to her last novel, Tell it to the Trees (2011). The records have been arranged in the following four series: Personal records (1992-2003); Tamarind Mem (1994-2001); The Hero’s Walk (1999-2005); Can You Hear the Nightbird Call? (2003-2006).

Fonds consists of predominantly of media works (photographs, moving images, sound recordings, graphic materials) created by LIDC and its predecessors. Records were created in the course of the department's work to provide media and technical support for university teaching and research; support instruction in the development of innovative teaching methods; produce publications to communicate and promote SFU and its programs; and create an audio-visual record of campus events and activities. Records include photographs in various formats (negatives, contact sheets, prints, slides), graphic design materials (drawings and cartoons), sound recordings and moving images; textual records comprise print publications created for client departments.

This collection contains records of the British Columbia Social Credit Party, predominantly in relation to the operations of Burnaby-Edmonds constituency. The collection includes records relating to other selected ridings where by-elections took place and party wide records relating to provincial elections. A considerable amount of records relates to the Social Credit Party leadership campaigns, party annual conventions and BC Young Socred organization. The majority of records cover period between 1978 and 1996, but some records reach as far as 1950 and 2005.

The collection contains administrative and day to day operations records such as memos, correspondence, membership list, contact lists, organizational constitution and by-laws, statements, committees’ minutes, and messages. In addition, the collection contains handbooks, manuals, reports and informational booklets intended to instruct candidates and volunteers on campaigning methods and strategies. Many of these records provide insight into shaping and evolving of the policies and electoral platforms of the Social Credit Party. In addition, the collection contains provincial election and party leadership campaign managing records that include candidate profiles and lists, internal correspondence and memos, and external use records intended for the promotion of the Social Credit Party and its candidates. The collection also includes a number of newspaper clippings, party newsletters, articles, posters, photographs, campaign buttons, video and sound recordings of events and promotional material.

The fonds consists of letters from Zukofsky to the poet Cid Corman. The fonds also contains four letters to the poet Walter Lowenfels.

The fonds of the Vancouver Women in Trades Association consists of records created and received in the course of administering the organization and providing support and advocacy for women working in trades and technology in the Vancouver area. Activities documented include annual and monthly meetings; office administration and funding; liaison with other groups; advisory work on vocational curricula; outreach projects; and advocacy around specific issues. Document types include constitution, minutes, correspondence, logbooks, worksheets, policy statements, briefs, reports, speeches, questionnaires, and photographs and illustrations. The fonds also contains published reference material, whose publication dates in some instances precede the foundation of the Association itself.

Fonds consists of records created or received by the Peak Publications Society primarily in the course of publishing The Peak, the student newspaper of Simon Fraser University. Activities and topics documented include the establishment and organization of the Peak Publications Society; developing sources of funding; the production of the newspaper, including the taking of photographs required to illustrate stories published; the hiring and duties of Peak staff members; and other publishing ventures of the Peak Publications Society. Includes a complete run of The Peak newspaper from 1965 and other published material such as the Terminal City Express, The Dic (student course guide), and The Peak Handbook. Also includes certification of incorporation, constitution, agendas, minutes, financial records, correspondence, and other documents, as well as contact sheets, prints, negatives, and microfilm reels.

Fonds consists of 21 mounted black and white photographic prints and 1 poster for an an exhibition of Kirkley's photos at the New Westminster Arts Council. The photographs feature dancers from the SFU dance program performing in student and faculty shows. One of the main subjects of the photographs is Lorraine Thomson, Alison Kirkley's sister and a graduate of the SFU dance program.

The project to create the photos was suggested to Alison Kirkley by Judith Garay, an SFU dance professor, as a way to document the newly credited dance program at SFU. The photos were taken in a minimalist style using analog camera equipment and natural light, and then developed and enhanced using dark room techniques.

Kirkley's equipment for taking the photographs consisted of a Hasselblad 500CM large format camera; Canon F-1 and Canon TX with a Canon FD series lens; Gossen Lunasix F exposure metres; and Canon Speedlite 199A. Her darkroom was equipped with a Berkey Omega C760 Modular 11 x 14 inch black and white enlarger. The paper used for the prints was Fujicolour and Infospeed MG44M.

Also included is correspondence with friends, publishers, and colleagues, translated editions of many of his books, and promotional materials such as posters and brochures for many conferences, festivals, and other events Bringhurst participated in. The fonds also contains some personal records, including birth, marriage, and death certificates from his immediate family. Fonds consist of records created and received by Will Koop as founder and director of the B.C. Tap Water Alliance. These include Community Watersheds Task Force meeting files; forest hydrology research records; land use plans, legal records from Joseph Miller et. al. vs. Wright Mallery; results of Freedom of Information requests; and newspaper clippings.
