The fonds consists mainly of items related to Gaston's writing activities dating from 1981. It includes hand-written and word-processed correspondence between Gaston and friends, editors, publishers, and other writers; galley copies, published copies, manuscripts and drafts of unpublished and published books, articles, short stories, plays, radio plays, reviews, and poems; clippings and photocopies of reviews of Gaston's work; pen and ink drawings by Gaston; author photographs, contact sheets, and negatives; miscellaneous notes by Gaston on his work, thoughts, and readings; notes and memos related to Gaston's work as a teacher; an address book; a VHS video tape; promotional materials for Gaston's books and public appearances at readings and festivals; and ephemera such as tourism brochures.

The materials were received from the creator in two accessions. The first accession consisted of 12 boxes containing records of Gaston's work and writing from 1981 to 2005, including materials relating to all his published works up to Sointula (2004). The second consisted of five boxes containing materials relating mostly to the period from 2006 to 2008, covering the creation and publication of Midnight Hockey (2006), Gargoyles (2006), and The Order of Good Cheer (2008). The creator had arranged the materials in the fonds generally by individual work, and this arrangement has been maintained. Original file titles, where available, have also been retained. Fonds illustrates George Stanley’s work as a poet in San Francisco, New York, Vancouver, and Terrace, spanning from the late 1950s to the present. Fonds also documents Stanley’s interactions with the broader literary scenes, including publishers and other writers. Fonds is divided into seven series: Correspondence (1967-2007), George Stanley poems and other writings (1957-2011), Works of other writers ([ca.1957]-2011), Literary events and publication (1972-2011), Personal documents (1972-1990), Photographs of George Stanley and associates (1964-1983).

The fonds consists of records reflecting Gustafson’s career as a successful artist and editor. Fonds consists of radio play-scripts and production scripts by David Brock, Peter Garvie, John Gray, Peter Haworth, Daryl Hine, Herbert Hosie, Betty Lambert, Robert Lowell, Gerald Newman, Norman Newton, Jean Racine, George Ryga, George Robertson, Frederick Spoerly, Ian Thorne, and George Woodcock and incidental music score manuscripts for two productions. Audio-cassettes are line-source copies of master tapes of drama radio programs and music radio programs produced by Gerald Newman.

The collection consists of materials that relate to Caroline Adderson's work as a writer. Types of materials include: versions of drafts of manuscripts, many with holograph annotations; incoming and outgoing correspondence in the form of handwritten and typewritten letters, and hard copies of email and fax; research relating to her work including collected works by other writers; notes that relate to and inform her literary work; promotional, personal, and research-related photographs; reviews of her work; and a collection of published work in monograph and serial format. These monographs and serials have been catalogued in SFU's Special Collections catalogue. Materials were accessioned in varying states of organization. Much of the material was and remains intermingled, and some had been organized and described by Adderson. Some folders have been written upon by the author, accompanied with explanations of the contents of the corresponding files. In this finding aid, RAD applies consistency to the body of material, but the descriptive contents within the actual folders are not consistent for this reason. All information Adderson has provided about her records has been kept with the appropriate papers.

The fonds consists of records created or accumulated by James Delgado since 1964 through his personal and professional activities. These activities include his work with the National Park Service, the Vancouver Maritime Museum, and the Institute for Nautical Archaeology, his archaeological projects and expeditions, his exploration of shipwreck sites, his work on the television show “The Sea Hunters,” as well as his lecturing and writing. Records include correspondence, publications, notes, manuscripts, research records, photographs, video recordings, and audio recordings.

The fonds consist of materials that relate to Twigg’s work as a writer, publisher and cofounder of the B.C. Book Prizes in the years 1975 to 2008. Materials include incoming and outgoing correspondence, taped television interviews, transcripts of television interviews, drafts of Twigg’s literary works, an unpublished manuscript of George Woodcock’s translation of Proust, audio cassette interviews, transcripts of interviews, photographs, banners, awards, legal documents, financial records, notes and newspaper and magazine clippings of Twigg’s published articles.

The collection consists of items related to St. Pierre's writing activities and to his work as a politician and police commissioner. Included are published books; magazines and newspapers in which St. Pierre has published his work; correspondence; drafts and manuscripts of books, radio and stage plays, television series episodes, and speeches; film scripts; newspaper columns; essays; reviews and articles about St. Pierre and his writing; and photographs.

Fonds consists of manuscripts, page proofs, editorial and general correspondence, contracts, promotional and biographical materials. Included in the fonds are archival materials for Vi Plotnikoff's Head Cook at Wedding and Funerals (1994), first collection of Doukhobor short stories published and the first widely published literary writings by a Doukhobor woman, and George Elliott Clarke's poem-novel Whylah Falls (1990), later adapted for the stage and film, along with materials related to the publication of other works in Polestar's catalogue.

The fonds contains manuscripts, correspondence, journals, documents related to provincial and national writers organizations and documents related to the founding and running of Caitlin Press, The Poem Factory/Usine de Poeme, and Coracle Press including correspondence, manuscripts, promotional materials, and business records. Also includes papers related to Zonailo's academic work at various universities, as well as personal memorabilia, phonograph recordings and audio-cassettes of Zonailo's poetry set to music, video-cassettes, musical scores, literary periodicals, books by other authors (mostly inscribed to Zonailo), poetry broadsides, chapbooks, and ephemera. Records related to Zonailo's work as a member or the planning committee of the C.G. Jung Society of Montreal and editor of its newsletter are also included as well as correspondence, periodicals, graphic materials, and other records related to astrology.

The fonds includes records of the administration and activities of the Women and Words Society, including minutes, correspondence, financial and payroll records, submissions, fundraising records, documentation of events and its mentorship program.
