Records consist of material gathered and created by Rose Marie Trembley at and in the lead-up to Vancouver's Writing in Our Time reading series. Records include newsletters, posters, brochures, minutes, press releases, correspondence, and several photographs of readers and events taken by Rose Marie Tremblay. Writing in Our Time was a reading series organized by the Vancouver Poetry Centre in 1979 to benefit West Coast literary presses, especially Blew Ointment Press. Poets who read at the event include George Bowering, Fred Wah, Frank Davey, Daphne Marlatt, Victor Coleman, Gerry Gilbert, bill bissett, Robert Creeley, Ed Dorn, Ann Waldman, and Michael McClure.

The fonds consists mainly of items related to Gaston's writing activities dating from 1981. It includes hand-written and word-processed correspondence between Gaston and friends, editors, publishers, and other writers; galley copies, published copies, manuscripts and drafts of unpublished and published books, articles, short stories, plays, radio plays, reviews, and poems; clippings and photocopies of reviews of Gaston's work; pen and ink drawings by Gaston; author photographs, contact sheets, and negatives; miscellaneous notes by Gaston on his work, thoughts, and readings; notes and memos related to Gaston's work as a teacher; an address book; a VHS video tape; promotional materials for Gaston's books and public appearances at readings and festivals; and ephemera such as tourism brochures.
The materials were received from the creator in two accessions. The first accession consisted of 12 boxes containing records of Gaston's work and writing from 1981 to 2005, including materials relating to all his published works up to Sointula (2004). The second consisted of five boxes containing materials relating mostly to the period from 2006 to 2008, covering the creation and publication of Midnight Hockey (2006), Gargoyles (2006), and The Order of Good Cheer (2008). The creator had arranged the materials in the fonds generally by individual work, and this arrangement has been maintained. Original file titles, where available, have also been retained. Fonds consists of records accumulated by Kevin Roberts during his work as a writer and a teacher. They include teaching notes, manuscripts, drafts, and correspondence.
The fonds consists mainly of textual materials, including notes and drafts of Lai’s works, numerous calendars and datebooks, school materials, and material related to her activism and arts involvement. There are also a large number of photocopied reference materials on such subjects as the arts, gay and lesbian issues, racism and feminism, and Chinese culture. There are a small number of photographs and negatives, and a wide variety of audio-visual media such as cassette tapes, Hi8 cassettes, broadcast video cassettes, and various computer media.
Collection consists of 16 mm film, transcripts, master audio recordings and audio cassettes. These records form part of the production elements used by Stanley Fox and Aquarian Productions to produce Series Two of Gestalt Sessions with Fritz Perls, filmed in 1969 and edited in 1972. Films are introduced by Dr. Karl. E. Humiston, and record psychotherapy sessions between Perls and volunteer patients that took place over five days and 55 hours in 1969.
Fonds illustrates George Stanley’s work as a poet in San Francisco, New York, Vancouver, and Terrace, spanning from the late 1950s to the present. Fonds also documents Stanley’s interactions with the broader literary scenes, including publishers and other writers. Stanley, George Anthony
Covering the time period of 1971 to 2007, the collection is comprised of records created or received by various staff of New Star Books in their business activities. These activities consisted of: soliciting authors for material or responding to author requests for representation, corresponding with authors throughout the editorial process, designing or contracting layouts for books and communicating instructions to vendors, arranging for printing of materials, promoting book tours and maintaining vendor accounts with various independent bookstores and organizations throughout the world. They also monitored book reviews in publications of the popular press and professional organizations, arranged for marketing of products, coordinated payments or receipt of payments, and periodically issued royalty checks. New Star was often reliant on external funding for the publication of some works, especially in instances where translation services were required to reach certain markets, so applications for grants or donations comprise a portion of each series.
The collection reflects some of the major cultural and political issues affecting Canada, and particularly British Columbia and Vancouver, in the late-1970’s and early-1980’s. These topics ranged from criticisms of British Columbia’s Social Credit administration, to works on the Nicaraguan and Cuban revolutions, feminism, gay rights, communism, and the immigrant experiences of Chinese Canadians and Eastern Europeans The collection also offers insight into some of the shifting trend of public interest away from such leftist publications and the choices New Star editors then had to make in choosing marketable content over progressive or provocative literature.

Nunaga Publishing Company Ltd.
Toby Brooks is an American-born social advocate and activist living in Canada with her husband David. Toby worked at a home for battered women in Ontario in the 1970’s and 1980’s. While furthering her education she came across the story of Vancouver poet Pat Lowther, murdered at just 40 years of age by her husband in 1975 when just on the brink of professional recognition. Pat Lowther’s untimely death resonated with Brooks, who spent the better part of the next two decades researching and interviewing Lowther’s friends, family, and colleagues. The end result was a biography entitled “Pat Lowther’s Continent: her life and work” published by gynergy books in 2000. Toby also organized a series of tributes dedicated to Pat Lowther. The first was held in 1995 at Emmanuel College in Toronto, with others following at various locations on what would have been her milestone birthdays.

Collection consists of typescript, manuscript and handwritten poems, wartime letters between Trevor Blakemore and Philip Godfray, between Ann Driver (Blakemore) and Philip Godfray, between Ann Driver (Blakemore) and Madame Godfray, and a memorial service program for Trevor Blakemore. Correspondence reflects themes such as British literary clubs, the wartime attitudes of the Blakemores, BBC wartime broadcasts and the evacuation of children from Nazi-occupied Channel Islands.

The fonds consists of correspondence (with manuscript and typescript enclosures) from Anne Waldman to Lewis Marsh, much of it pertaining to the relationship between the two poets, as well as to relationships with other poets. Their involvement in the Naropa Institute is also described. Most of the letters from 1969 to 1973 concern the publishing of Angel Hair Books and contain much information about the New York poetry world centred at the Poetry Project.
