Activities, events and topics documented include performing groups associated with the university (SFU Madrigal Singers, the Simon Fraser University Theatre Company, the Magnetic Band), a 1974 copyright dispute (file 8), public and media relations, correspondence with visiting artists, the 1977 residency by five members of the Royal Shakespeare Company (Patrick Stewart, Sheila Allen, Richard Pasco, Ben Kingsley, and Juliet Aykroyd). Records include event programs, membership lists, correspondence, petitions, workshop evaluations, proposals, reports, attendance statistics, press clippings and media releases, architectural drawings (set design, file 17), reprints and other printed reference material.

The sub-series consists of records relating to the planning and publication of Beyerstein's journal articles and book projects. Records include correspondence, research notes and working papers, contracts, reviews, reader responses, royalty statements, photographs, and book publicity materials.

Titles include newsletters of SFSS or affiliated clubs (Council Bulletin, SFU Science Undergraduate Society's Purple Period / Purple Publication, International Club Newsletter); literary or campus opinion reviews (Compass, the first issue of SFU Literary Magazine edited by Brian Fawcett and Henk Suys, Cheap Thrills, International Skyline, Makar, SFU Komix); and newspapers funded by SFSS (Identity – SFU Canadian-Persian Student Newspaper, Mountain Echoes – BC Student Multicultural Newspaper, and U-Voice – SFU Chinese Student Newspaper). Note that most titles are represented by only one or two issues. However, the sub-series does include fairly complete runs of the Council Bulletin over 1966-1967 and U-Voice from 1998-2009.

This sub-series consists of various publications and newspaper clippings that document various matters relating to the Doukhobor community and the organizations within the community such as the CCBRD, the USCC and the Sons of Freedom. Some of the documents relate to the Doukhobor relations with the Canadian government and their attitude toward the Soviet Union. Many publications in this file are created by the CCBRD, its Fraternal Council and some were created by the Investigative Symposium of the CCBRD. These publications contain often ranting, doctrinal, argumentative, historical, and political information and many are authored by Steve Lapshinoff. Some documents are in Russian and some in English. On occasion files contain copies of documents in both languages.

Subseries consists of articles, presentations and correspondence relating to public speaking engagements by McTaggart-Cowan concerning his experiences, findings and opinions relating to the Chedabucto Bay oil spill.

Subseries consists of records arising from publications and presentations produced by Dallas Smythe. Series includes his Ph.D. dissertation, journal articles, studies, speeches, prepared testimony, and other materials. Materials relate to television content analysis, satellite broadcasting and other communications technology, the effects of mass media on society, the peace movement, and other topics researched and studied by Smythe.

Sub-series consists of books by Gambone published by publishers other than Red Lion Press. Titles includes a 2010 edition of Joseph Dietzgen's The Nature of Human Brain Work with an essat by Gambone (PM Press); and two works published by Edmonton's Black Cat Press, Gambone's memoir, No Regrets (2015), and his history of the BC IWW, For Freedom We Will Fight (2021).

Subseries consists of correspondence arising from the creation and publication of Dallas Smythe's various publications and presentations. Series includes correspondence regarding Smythe's research in television content studies, pay TV, telecommunications regulations, telecommunications training for individuals in developing countries, the political economy of communications, and other related topics. Subseries also includes correspondence regarding the publication of Smythe's book, Dependency Road.

Correspondence relating to Smythe's New York television content studies includes some photographs produced during those studies.

Sub-series consists of single-issue or short-lived publications produced by The Peak Publications Society. Includes an early student directory (1967), student course guides and anti-calendars, Compass (1967), issues 1-12 of Terminal City Express (1972-1973), SNAFU Review (1978), cartoons, and an issue of Westword: Literature at Simon Fraser University (1996).

Sub-series consists of editions of the Canadian Farmworkers Union newspaper The Farmworker, newspaper clippings about the union and its activities, posters and leaflets on a variety of subjects, and press releases. Records also include a recording of a radio program about the Canadian Farmworkers Union, CFU logo lapel pins, and photographs of events.

Sub-series contains records related to promotion and publicity for the IMAG annual film and video festival. Document types include festival programs, newspaper clipping and photocopies, posters, IMAG press releases, press kits for films, and correspondence related to advertising and media sponsorship.

Sub-series contains records relating to reviews and publicity records for various books written by James Delgado, as well as some records relating to Delgado's reviews of the work of others. Records include correspondence (primarily with publishers), newspaper clippings, web page printouts, newsletters, and journals.
