Academic Planning / Secretariat Services

Sub-series consists of records relating to the activities of the Academic Planning Services unit within the Vice-President, Academic's Office (1992-1995), and then Secretariat Services which took over some the Academic Planning Services' functions in 1995. Activities and topics documented include university endowment accounts, administrative support for external reviews, development of an "accountability framework," and budget planning for new academic program proposals. Records include correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, and drafts; external review committee terms of reference, itineraries, summaries, and reports; and program proposals, comments (internal and external), and funding estimates.

Red Bait interviews

Series consists of interviews or recordings of Albert King on recollections of his time as a union organizer, evolution of occupational health and safety. Includes recordings of revisions recommended by King.

Talks

Subseries contains notes, drafts, typescripts, and recordings of readings and lectures. Includes work by others.

Correspondence with writers

Series consists of letters and emails with fellow writers regarding a wide variety of writing-related issues, including reviewing others poems and having her poems reviewed. Correspondents include George McWhirter, Joy Kogawa, PK Page, Lynne Bowen, Patrick Lane, Lorna Crozier, Sandy Shreve, and a host of other fellow poets and mentors.

Simon Fraser University Faculty Association (SFUFA)

Sub-series consists of records relating to the Vice-President, Academic's participation in the university's consultations and negotiations with the Simon Fraser University Faculty Association (SFUFA) on matters relating the collective framework agreement, academic policies, and other matters affecting the terms and conditions of academic employment. Records include correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes, the report of the Joint Committee on Appeals on Matters Affecting Terms and Conditions of Employment (1993) and other reports, lists of SFUFA executive members, and arbitration briefs.

Student affairs

Sub-series consists of records relating to the Vice-President, Academic's interactions with university students and the Simon Fraser Student Society (SFSS). Records include correspondence, news releases, and SFSS Ombuds Office annual reports.

Reprographics

Sub-series consists of the Associate Vice-President, Academic's correspondence with, related to, or copied from Reprographics during the period in which it reported to the AVP Academic (1991-1994). After 1994, Reprographics reported directly to the VP Academic (1994-2000), returned shortly to AVP Academic (2000-2002), then moved to Finance and Auxiliary Services (2002- ). Activities documented in the correspondence include general organizational and budget planning. Records consists predominantly of correspondence, with some reports.

Membership

Sub-series contains records related to membership in IMAG, including lists of board members, student contact information, instructor contact information, and completed membership cards and forms.

Typescripts and page proofs

Subseries contains typescripts and page proofs of poetry, books, chapbooks, essays, interviews, reviews, and columns. Includes notes and drafts, correspondence and resources.

GCBF general administration files

Sub-series consists of records relating to the establishment and general administration of the GCBF Society. Records include Society incorporation papers, by-laws, and certificate of dissolution; proposals and reports; festival business plans, manuals, surveys, reports and budget papers; address book, correspondence, notes and working papers.

Coast news articles, reviews and poems

Sub-series consists of newspaper articles, reviews, and poems, written by Peter Trower and published in the Coast News newspaper. Includes some original articles and some photocopied reproductions. Articles are often accompanied by explanatory comments added by Trower at a later date.

Contract researcher files

Sub-series consists of records compiled and created by a contract researcher hired by the Office of the President. Includes files of documents relating to the Fraser Valley University Society and TechBC, compiled by the researcher to write a history of TechBC and to create an Archives for the University. Records also include working papers and drafts of the "History of the Technical University of British Columbia" and an inventory of Fraser Valley University Society records in TechBC's custody. The sub-series also includes records relating to research performed concerning applied science and research programs; proposed partnerships with corporations, industry, BCIT and Simon Fraser University; and other reports relating to the development of the University. Records include reports; correspondence; working papers and notes; minutes; promotional material, brochures, newspaper articles and press releases; and legislation. Records include both photocopies and originals.
