Series comprises records made or received by the Association's central organizations relating to Association-wide business. Activities documented include annual general meetings, meetings of the Central Executive and committees; revisions to the Association's constitution and organizational structure; financial management of Association funds; liaison with Divisions, government, and other organizations; production of the Association newsletter; development of educational initiatives; interventions in public-policy debates; participation in public fairs, markets and exhibits; and the administration of membership and the Boone Hodgson Wilkinson Trust Fund. These notebooks contain Duke’s thoughts, observations and concepts for future projects ranging from articles to screenplays, legal proceedings, housing plans and travel accounts.

This series is comprised of material associated with Ajaib’s life after World War II as he developed a successful business and started a family. Most of the images in this series come from a family album and are centered around Ajaib’s marriage to Nirmal and the early years of their marriage. Most of the material from later in his life is in the form of correspondence and other records. Also included are some memorabilia items and ephemera that illustrate how Ajaib and Nirmal enjoyed their free time (concerts, theatre shows, trips, etc.).

Series consists of speeches given by McTaggart-Cowan on a number of topics, including meteorology, education, and science policy. Includes both finished speeches, rough notes, and background material. Also includes notes on lectures in meteorology given at SFU.

Series consists of newspaper clippings, dating from 1946-2012. The clippings pertain to the lives of Harry and Valerie Jerome, including their achievements in track and involvement in various groups and initiatives. There are also several clippings about Valerie’s son and Harry’s nephew, Stuart Parker, primarily concerning his role in the British Columbia Green Party – first as a member of the Young Greens political youth organization and eventually as leader of the Green Party. As the clippings were accumulated by different persons, including Harry, Valerie, and friends who sent the clippings to Valerie following Harry’s death, they are contained within their own series. The clippings reflect the mixed reaction that the media had towards Harry Jerome; many of the articles are critical of Harry. During the peak years of his career from 1960-1968, there are many articles about his various races, records, and injuries. The

clippings dating from 1982-2012 were collected by Valerie Jerome and include posthumous articles about Harry and the creation/unveiling of the Harry Jerome statue. There are also several clippings on Valerie’s political career, including campaign ads, letters to the editor and news stories from political events.

Series consists of records related to Blaser’s lectures and talks, his involvement with the Naropa Summer Writing Series, reading and research notes, student papers, and faculty meeting agendas and memos from his employment with Simon Fraser University.

After leaving military service he spent time in India training and returned to Canada to start East India Carpets in 1948. The business began as wholesale until expanding; the family has maintained their current retail location on 2nd street since 1962.
