James Delgado fonds

The fonds consists of records created or accumulated by James Delgado since 1964 through his personal and professional activities. These activities include his work with the National Park Service, the Vancouver Maritime Museum, and the Institute for Nautical Archaeology, his archaeological projects and expeditions, his exploration of shipwreck sites, his work on the television show “The Sea Hunters,” as well as his lecturing and writing. Records include correspondence, publications, notes, manuscripts, research records, photographs, video recordings, and audio recordings.

Ginger Goodwin research collection

Collection consists of records created or accumulated by Roger Stonebanks over the course of, and following, his research for the book “Fighting for Dignity: The Ginger Goodwin Story,” published in 2004, as well as for numerous newspaper articles about Goodwin, mining, and labour history in British Columbia. Records include interview notes, correspondence, photographs and other graphic material, audio cassette tapes containing interview recordings and radio broadcasts, research records from various sources, and Stonebanks’ notes about sources consulted. Research records are primarily reproductions from sources such as museums and archives, and include records such as birth, death and marriage certificates, photographs, and newspaper articles. Some records date past 2004, after the publication of Stonebanks’ books, and thus were not used as research sources. The collection also contains various articles reviewing and publicizing Stonebanks’ book.

Collection has been arranged into the following four series: Correspondence (1985-2004); Subject files (1908-2011); General clippings and publicity (1990-2010); and Photographs (1909-2004).

The collection reflects Rimmer’s career as a designer, illustrator, printer, and publisher, and his involvement with members of the printing community and various associations. The extensive graphic material within the collection includes sketches, drawings and prints. The fonds consists of textual records and other media created by Harry and Valerie Jerome, which reflect the various facets of Harry Jerome’s life, including academics, athletics, and community/national sports initiatives. While most of the records reflect Harry’s life, the fonds also includes records that pertain to Valerie Jerome’s life, namely her athletic and political career. In addition, a biographical manuscript, which is Valerie Jerome’s written iteration of the story of the Jerome family and Harry’s life, is included in the fonds. The fonds also includes records that were created by the Harry Jerome Commemorative Society and the Black Business and Professional Association’s Harry Jerome Awards. Additionally, the newspaper clipping series includes a file featuring Valerie Jerome’s son and Harry Jerome’s nephew, Stuart Parker, and his political endeavors with the British Columbia Green Party.
