Because of the pro-Russian attitude of this organization came under scrutiny of both Canadian and US security branches. The course used the electronic mailing list (listserv) "beep-l" as the medium of communication for the two sections of the seminar. The course culminated in a colloquium entitled "Beyond the Orchard: A joint graduate colloquium on bpNichol’s The Martyrology." Writings from the course and colloquium were later published in a volume of the same name. Records include correspondence and course material.
