Fonds consists of 22 sketchbooks (featuring watercolours, pen and ink drawings, pastel and charcoal sketches, travel diary entries) measuring approximately 8 x 10" to 10.5 x 14". These sketchbooks document Rose Malerby's travels to Prince Rupert via ferry and from there to the Yukon with friends in a Volkswagon bus. Malerby captured landscapes, townscapes, harbour scenes, flora, people, architecture and artifacts, and noted weather conditions, gas costs, where they stopped to eat and places they stayed along the way.

Series consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence of a personal and business nature between Rimmer and various members of the printing community, including Paul Duensing, Jules Remedios Faye, Richard L. Series consists of numerous prints and illustrations created by Rimmer as art pieces, as well as linocut blocks, woodcut blocks and stencils created by Rimmer to produce prints. Includes images of animals, people, still life, Frederic W. Goudy and keepsakes created for the American Typecasting Fellowship, (A.T.F.) and other associations.

Series consists of sample, draft and completed commercial work produced by Rimmer as a free-lance designer employed by various companies, organizations and individuals. Records include items completed by Rimmer for Colophon Books, including Alison’s Fishing Birds and preliminary work on Allen Ginsberg’s Meditations at Lake Louise; editorial cartoons created by Rimmer for the Williams Lake Tribune from 1960 to 1961; and numerous prints, paintings, and logos created for commercial purposes. Companies, organizations and individuals represented include Murchie’s Tea and Coffee Ltd., Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Air Canada, Vancouver Public Library, Hot Jazz Club, the band Heart, Whistler village, Shrine Circus, and Douglas & McIntyre Publishers.

Series consists of material related to Rimmer’s design and production of typefaces for both the Rimmer Type Foundry and the Lanston Type Company. Records include preliminary sketches, drawings in ink and pencil, transparencies, samples, digital print-outs, electronic files, master patterns, specimen castings, matrices, lead working patterns, and cast metal sorts. Some files contain notes and instructions for modification, and some include explanatory comments written by Rimmer. Electronic files were created by Rimmer on a Macintosh computer using the typeface design software IKARUS and saved to 3.5" floppy disks and compact discs.

Fonds consists of broadsides, chapbooks and business records generated by Mother Tongue's publishing activities.

Fonds consists of correspondence, manuscripts, notes, articles, and promotional materials created or accumulated by Robert Bringhurst over the course of his career as a typographer and writer. The majority of records were created in 2000 or later, as the donor had also donated records to Library and Archives Canada in the past.

The records include manuscripts of several of his major publications, as well as draft versions and speaking notes for many essays written and talks delivered throughout his career. Also included is correspondence with friends, publishers, and colleagues, translated editions of many of his books, and promotional materials such as posters and brochures for many conferences, festivals, and other events Bringhurst participated in. The fonds also contains some personal records, including birth, marriage, and death certificates from his immediate family. A timeline of major life events and activities has been included by the donor.

Includes drafts of her first three novels: Tamarind Mem (1997), The Hero’s Walk and Can You Hear the Nightbird Call?. There are no records related to her last novel, Tell it to the Trees (2011). Fonds also contains a grant proposal, correspondence, notes, drafts, and layouts related to producing the work. B.C. Poets and Print appeared in Open Letter (Seventh series, nos. 2-3) in 1988.

Records include correspondence, poems, reviews, and other written works, notes, a notebook, magazine & newspaper clippings, photographs, a small branch, a color print on paper, cassette tapes, personal and financial records, teaching materials, computer disks, screen printed paper prints, and event promotional materials & invitations.

Toby Brooks is an American-born social advocate and activist living in Canada with her husband David. Toby worked at a home for women survivors of domestic abuse in Ontario in the 1970’s and 1980’s. While furthering her education she came across the story of Vancouver poet Pat Lowther, murdered at just 40 years of age by her husband in 1975 when just on the brink of professional recognition. Pat Lowther’s untimely death resonated with Brooks, who spent the better part of the next two decades researching and interviewing Lowther’s friends, family, and colleagues. The end result was a biography entitled “Pat Lowther’s Continent: her life and work” published by gynergy books in 2000. Toby also organized a series of tributes dedicated to Pat Lowther. The first was held in 1995 at Emmanuel College in Toronto, with others following at various locations on what would have been her milestone birthdays.

This collection consists of textual records compiled primarily by Toby Brooks, but also some research material from her collaborator Dona Sturmanis. The records are mainly correspondence, interview transcripts and photocopies of poems. There are also copies of research records obtained from other archives or organizations.
