The University Archives regularly receives donations of material related to SFU history from members of the University community (e.g., alumni, former staff and faculty, members of the general public, etc.). These donations usually consist of a small number of files and/or items that either focus on a single subject or event, or form a more general collection of material accumulated through a donors' connection to SFU.

When the Archives first started acquiring these types of materials, individual collections were created and named after the donor(s) (e.g., Mr. and Mrs. X SFU history collection). Very quickly, the Archives had several small collections on SFU history spread across its holdings, which it made it difficult for researchers to search and identify such similar groups of records. As a way to make these collections more accessible, the Archives decided to group them together under the umbrella of this collection, with a series created for each donation to preserve the chain of custody.

Fonds consists of records created and received by Bud Osborn during his life and work as an activist, poet and community organizer in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Records include legal documents, reports, manuscripts, photographs, correspondence, royalty statements, sound recordings and research.

The collection consists of audio cassette recordings of the interviews and associated paper documentation (biographical forms and interview summaries) for each of the women who participated. Twelve women were interviewed. The names of the interviewers and interviewees are:

The fonds consists of records made or received in the course of administering the BCSF and carrying out its programs. Activities documented include the establishment and organization of the various student groups; executive and general meetings; management of financial resources; research into policy issues; and lobbying activities. Documents include agenda and minutes; constitutions; correspondence; briefs and reports; newsletters; and news clippings.

The fonds reflects the role of the BC Provincial Police Veterans’ Association in maintaining the relationships and memories of the men who served on the police force. Records include written reminiscences, newspaper clippings, and photographs of the men in service, as well as documentation and photographs of the activities of the Veterans’ Association and the lives of members. The fonds has been arranged in three series: 1: Administrative records and photographs ([ca. 1900]-2012); 2: British Columbia Provincial Police photographs and other records ([ca. 1939]-2008); and 3: Records relating to individual British Columbia Provincial Police officers (1935-2009).

The fonds consists of minutes of the association from 1932 to 1974. The minutes document the decisions and activities of the association including elections, rules for competitions, organizing dances, fundraisers, competitions, and the annual gatherings. Minutes for March 1935 to early January, 1939 are missing.

The fonds comprises records made or received in the course of administering the BCHPA's central and divisional organizations and carrying out their functions and programs. Most of the records originated with the Central Executive. Activities documented include board, committee and general members' meetings; correspondence of BCHPA officers; management of Association finances; evolution of the BCHPA constitution, by-laws and organizational structure; advice to governments and intervention in public policy debates relating to apiculture; production of the Association's newsletter; development of beekeeping educational programs and seminars; and participation in markets, exhibits and fairs. Records include constitution and by-laws; meeting agendas, minutes and supporting papers; correspondence; reports and briefs; cash books; grant applications and proposals; copies of the Association newsletter; and course outlines and teaching material.

Fonds consists of records made or recieved by the Association in the course of its activities. Activities documented include incorporation; meetings of the Annual General Meeting and various committees; maintenance of membership; financial management, budget planning, and grant applications; correspondence with member centres, regional representatives, government ministries and agencies, and other organizations; and development of a training strategy ("Planning for Change") and other projects. Records include correspondence, reports, meeting minutes and supporting papers, policies and procedures, financial records, agreements, published materials retained for reference, and notes, drafts and working papers.

The fonds consists of correspondence, poems (including concrete, experimental and sound poem drafts), manuscripts (including drafts), notebooks, and journals of bp Nichol. Fonds includes records (1964-1987) of Nichol's presses, Ganglia and grOnk, consisting of manuscript files, correspondence files, mockups, business and reference files, computer discs, the authors poetry and comic book collections, photographs, television scripts, etc. Correspondents and contributors include Bill Bissett, Gerry Gilbert, Margaret Avison, Earle Birney, David Harris, David Phillips, David McFadden and others.

Fonds consists of records relating to the activities of the Book and Periodical Development Council and its committees and task forces. They include reports, research, Freedom to Read kits, bank statements, minutes, correspondence, newspaper clippings, memos, and newsletters.

The fonds consists of records arising from the mandated functions of the Board of Governors as described in the administrative history. The fonds includes meeting minutes, agendas, and supporting documents; reports; financial papers; contracts; architectural drawings; search and review committee records including c.v.'s, reference letters, and appointment forms; news clippings and other documents. The fonds also includes a collection of policies and procedures, many of which had to be approved by the Board.

Fonds consists of records relating to the activities and administration of the Allan Boag Foundation, including financial and accounting records, requests for funding, correspondence, grant applications and rejection letters.

Collection consists of first issues of stamps, postcards, comics and other materials related to Blair Henshaw’s collecting and AIDS-awareness advocacy work. Collection has been arranged into the following five series: Stamps and related records (1988–[before 2002]), Postcards, posters and phone cards (1983–[before 2002]), Exhibition records (1993–1999), AIDS on Stamps project files [199-]–2003 and Correspondence (1993–2002).

Fonds consists of correspondence, photographs and ephemera as well as published and unpublished manuscripts from several authors: Victoria Walker, Stephen Stepanchev, Lionel Kearns, George Stanley, Robert Creeley, Ed Dorn, Joan Kyger, Bill Corbett, Duncan McNaughton, Robin Blaser and Michael Davidson.

Fonds consists of records relating primarily to the academic and professional life of Bill Richards, and in part to his personal life. Activities, topics, and events documented include Richards’ course development and instruction; academic conference participation and presentations; research projects and partnerships; writing and publications; computer software development, implementation, communications, and analyses; grant writing and applications; employment; and his death and memorial. Records include correspondence, notes, course syllabi, program manuals and data sets, publications and reports, grant applications, conference programs and proceedings, software programs, and sound and moving image recordings.

Fonds consists primarily of manuscripts and poems of Bill Bissett, journal entries (1958), reviews, sketches and doodles, correspondence, paste-ups and graphics for several Blewointment Press publications, and photographs of the press.

Fonds consists of 22 linocut blocks created by Bev Leech in 1961, as a senior thesis project at the Vancouver School of Art (now Emily Carr University of Art and Design) to produce the book, A Glossary of Typographical Terms by Simon Oliver.

The fonds consists of correspondence, notebooks, and manuscripts of Betty Lambert relating to her career as a writer and a university professor.

Fonds consist of records created and received by Will Koop as founder and director of the B.C. Tap Water Alliance. These include Community Watersheds Task Force meeting files; forest hydrology research records; land use plans, legal records from Joseph Miller et. al. vs. Wright Mallery; results of Freedom of Information requests; and newspaper clippings. The fonds also contains files relating to Chapman Creek, and the Bull Run, Seattle City, Rossland City, Chapman Creek and Elk Creeks watersheds.

The fonds consists of 16 audio cassette tapes, with a total of 10 interviews, conducted by poet Barry McKinnon of Prince George B.C. for a special issue of the Toronto magazine Open Letter on B.C. Poets and Print. The fonds also contains word-for-word interview transcriptions and transcriptions that have been edited for publication. Fonds also contains a grant proposal, correspondence, notes, drafts, and layouts related to producing the work. B.C. Poets and Print appeared in Open Letter (Seventh series, nos. 2-3) in 1988.

The fonds consists the archive of poet and writer Barry McKinnon.

Fonds consists of records relating to Barry Beyerstein's personal and family life, and his teaching, research, scholarship, and professional activities. Records include correspondence, photographs, research notes, working papers, and teaching material; offprints, lectures, and copies of newspaper and magazine articles authored by Beyerstein; and draft manuscripts for chapters of published books.

The fonds is a hybrid of paper, analog, and born-digital media.

Collection consists of records reflecting the administration, organization and activities of AUCE #2 as well as AUCE's provincial organization. Includes constitution, by-laws, articles of agreement, contracts, financial statements, reports, correspondence, memoranda, ephemera, newsletters, handbooks, and bulletins.

Fonds consists of the official records of the Independent Publishers Association and its 1976 successor, the Association of Canadian Publishers. The fonds documents the 1971 founding and the first ten years of operation of the ACP and its activities to strengthen and expand the Canadian-owned publishing industry through government action, co-operation between publishing houses and liaison with other associations.

The records contain substantial information and analysis of the English language Canadian publishing industry during this period and of its specialized sectors such as children's book, educational, scholarly, music and paperback publishing. They document the founding and operation of ACP affiliates: the Literary Press Group, Association of Book Publishers of BC and the Atlantic and Alberta Publishers Associations. The records reveal the concerns of these regional and specialized groups and of the industry as a whole and detail the remedial strategies formulated for problems of warehousing and distribution, censorship, production costs, promotion, foreign sales and foreign ownership. The ACP was a sustaining member of the Book and Periodical Development Council and the Canadian Copyright Institute and amassed minutes and papers from these organizations.

The collection reflects the cultural and economic nationalism that emerged in Canada during the 1970's. It offers significant information about federal and provincial government policies, initiatives and funding programs in aid of book publishing and on related issues such as copyright, Canadian learning materials development and the book tariff. Substantial records have been maintained on the Canada Council and its Book Purchase Program, the Ontario Arts Council, and the federal ministries of Secretary of State and Industry, Trade and Commerce. An extensive collection of briefs to the 1971 Ontario Royal Commission on Book Publishing is also included.

The records document Canadian publishers' participation in foreign book fairs and the Montreal Book Fair. Detailed records have been maintained on the proceedings of ACP publishing policy conferences and publishers' professional development seminars. Considerable documentation exists about the interaction between the ACP and associations and individuals representing libraries, educational institutions, booksellers and writers.

Fonds consists of moving images, sound recordings, and textual records relating to Arthur Erickson, his achievements, his travels, and his friends and family. Moving images include documentaries; exhibitions; TV programs; Architectural Institute of America meetings; artistic films; and home movies documenting Erickson's travels and family life. Note that a number of the films are duplicates stored on different mediums (e.g. Betacam, U-matic, and VHS). Sound recordings include radio interviews, lecture series, news documentaries, movie soundtracks, and a soundtrack for the Architectural Institute of America awards ceremony. Textual records include two books and two pamphlets.
