Biographical history

Bud Osborn was a poet, community organizer and activist in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. He was a founding member of the Vancouver Area Network of Drug Users (VANDU) and advocated for the creation of a legal supervised injection site. His poetry commented on poverty, addiction and homelessness in Vancouver, BC.

Custodial history

Records were in the custody of Osborn's sister until their acquisition by Simon Fraser University Library Special Collections and Rare Books in 2015.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of records created and received by Bud Osborn during his life and work as an activist, poet and community organizer in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Records include legal documents, reports, manuscripts, photographs, correspondence, royalty statements, sound recordings and research.
