Richard Wirtz Emerson, along with Frederick Eckman, edited the literary journal "Golden Goose" an operated the Golden Goose Press, which published "Le Fou" (1952), Robert Creeley's first published anthology of poetry.

The fonds consists of correspondence written by Robert Creeley and typescripts of poems, stories and essays of Creeley sent with letters to Emerson. The correspondence is concerned with a magazine Creeley intended to establish, Creeley's poems published in "Golden Goose", the publication of "Le Fou", and other matters.
