Vancouver native Thomas Lawrence Carnie (b. May 25, 1915) served overseas in Britain and France from 1940-1944 as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces - 14th Tank Regiment (Calgary). Captured at Dieppe, Carnie was imprisoned in a German prisoner of war camp in 1943.
