Series consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence with family, friends, and colleagues. Material includes handwritten, typed and facsimile correspondence of both a personal and professional nature. Additional material includes photographs, color slides, screen-printed paper prints, postcards, cards, drafts of poetry & other works, newspaper & magazine clippings, 3 1/2 x 4 inch computer disks, a small branch, flyers & invitations for events, and other textual records.

Sub-series consists of drafts, edits, typescripts, and notes written by Thesen. Materials include handwritten notes, drafts, unpublished works, edited poems, prose, typescripts/manuscripts, correspondence, book cover proofs, research materials, notebooks, cassette tapes, and other materials.

Series consists of written works by Thesen. Materials include cassette tapes, handwritten notes, drafts, unpublished works, typescripts/manuscripts of poetry, prose, articles, reviews, cassette tapes, interviews, book cover proofs, notebooks, and other materials. The series is divided into the following three sub-series: Drafts, Edits & Typescripts, Reviews & Interviews and Awards: Judging and Nominations.

Correspondence (Folder 12 of 12)

Contains correspondence to Thesen and includes a certificate of appreciation from Capilano College and a memorandum of agreement from House of Anansi for A Pair of Scissors.

Governor General Nomination

Includes correspondence regarding nomination for Governor General's Literary Awards for The Good Bacteria, newspaper clippings and a copy of the Lake Country Calendar newspaper.

Awards: Judging & Nominations

Sub-series consists of materials relating to prizes for which Sharon Thesen was either nominated or acted as judge. Materials include correspondence, a review, newspaper clippings, articles and photocopied articles, a newspaper, a list of submissions, handwritten notes, a small map and an awards booklet.

Personal Records

Series consists of records relating to Thesen's personal life. The series is divided into the four following sub-series: Financial Records, Ephemera, Personal Photographs, and Life Events. Materials include correspondence, writ of summons, invoices, premium statements, a tax return, posters, flyers, postcards, invitations, a pin, and photographs.

Life Events

Sub-series consists of information regarding significant life events for Sharon Thesen, including the major historical Kelowna Wildfire of 2003. Materials include newspapers and clippings, correspondence, and an introductory speech for a reading.

Publications

Series consists of publications mostly written by other authors and acquired by Sharon Thesen over the course of her lifetime. Materials includes journals, books, microfiche, zines, a postcard, a box of short poems, and other published materials.

Teaching & Events

Series consists of Thesen's work teaching at Concordia University, Dawson College, and the Sage Hill Writing Experience. Materials include correspondence, department course guides, schedules, students’ work, newspaper clippings, posters, event programs, cassette tapes, tickets, letter of agreement, poems, class announcements, department news, photographs, and other materials.

Sub-series consists of reviews of Thesen's work, articles on her as an author, and miscellaneous clippings on a variety of topics. Materials include correspondence, handwritten notes, magazines, newspaper magazines, photocopies, posters, journals, and magazine & newspaper clippings.

Includes newspaper clippings, a poster for a reading by Lisa Robertson, Fly Away Home: a few metamorphoses by Don McKay, Laughing Gland Journal, a poster for an event with Thesen, bibliographical note by Ralph Maud, photocopies of clippings, facsimile correspondence, a program for a conference, a schedule for flights, a poster for a talk by Joanne Woolway, Blaser poems for a panel talk, addresses.

Griffin Prize 2003
