Sub-sub-series consists of Granville Island Brewing drinkware, including plastic disposable cups and glasses.

Kegs and related artefacts

Sub-sub-series consists of a 10L and a 20L Granville Island Brewing mini-keg and related items, including a tap, mallet and caps. GIB first started offering draft Island Lager in a take home mini keg or 'Party Keg' in May 1986. The kegs came in 10L, 15L and 20L sizes. Larger kegs were also made available to licensees and pubs beginning in May 1986.

Tap handles

Sub-sub-series consists of plastic and ceramic Granville Island Brewing and Pacific Draft Beer tap handles. Pacific Western was owned by Potters International, which acquired a majority of Granville Island Brewing shares in 1989.

Sub-sub-series consists of Granville Island Brewing beer bottles and cases.

Sub-series consists of Granville Island Brewing artefacts relating to the marketing and promotion of the brewery and the distribution of its products accumulated by Mitch Taylor. Includes beer bottles, tap handles, kegs, t-shirts, glasses and a sign.

Sub-series consists of newspaper and magazine articles accumulated by Mitch Taylor relating to Granville Island Brewing and featuring Taylor and brewmaster Rainer Kallahne.

Sub-series consists of photographs (many of which were taken by Mitch Taylor) documenting Granville Island Brewing’s construction and opening; staff and partners; customers; store, brewing equipment and supplies; brewery truck; beer and other products; and general activities. Includes photographs of Mitch Taylor and his daughters Jillian and Lydia. Item level descriptions were provided by Mitch Taylor in 2023.

Events records

Sub-series consists of invitations, promotional material and other records relating to events put on by Granville Island Brewing and Granville Island in general, including the brewery launch party on June 9, 1984, anniversary celebrations and beer launches. Also included are postcards for the German Pavilion at Expo 86, which served Granville Island beer.

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the promotion of Granville Island Brewing and its products, including mini kegs and Island Lager, Island Bock, Island Marzen, Lord Granville Premium Lager and Lord Granville Natural Pale Ale beers. Types of material include promotional brochures and write-ups; beer bottle labels; table cards; and coasters. Marketing records

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the marketing of Granville Island Brewing and its products, and includes marketing plans, analyses and reports; price lists; customer questionnaire; marketing manager job description; graphics manual; and copies of articles relating to brewing industry competition.

Human resources records

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the management of Granville Island Brewing staff, and includes employee manuals and mission statement; job descriptions; meeting notes and agenda; and records relating to employee performance appraisal.

Annual reports

Sub-sub-series consists of Granville Island Brewing Company Limited annual reports for the years 1985 to 1988.

General administrative records

Sub-sub-series consists of various records relating to the administration of Granville Island Brewing, and includes copies of its first brewer's license and the German Purity Law analysis of Island Lager; Mitch Taylor biographical information, business cards and name tag; a loan agreement; and a management information systems report.

Series consists of talks and speeches given by Mitch Taylor to various organizations relating to establishing, growing and operating Granville Island Brewing (GIB); the brewing business; the GIB brewing process; and Taylor’s experiences as an entrepreneur.

Fonds consists of records made or received by Mitch Taylor in the course of his professional activities and business ventures from 1972 to 1992. The records relate primarily to Taylor's co-founding, development and operation of Granville Island Brewing Company Limited in Vancouver, BC from 1981 to April 1989; his time at the brewery in the role of VP Sales and Marketing for Potters Distilling from April 1989 to 1992; and his co-founding of Creekhouse Industries on Granville Island in 1972.
