Records about P. P. Verigin

This series consists of documents reporting details of events attended by P. P. Verigin or events related to him. These accounts relate to P.P. Verigin’s arrival in Canada, his visit to Saskatchewan, his visit to the Sons of Freedom in God’s Valley and P.P. Verigin’s wrath at Verigin communalists. In addition, this series contains index of documents written by or relating to P.P. Verigin and letter of E. G. Sherstobitoff requesting enlargement of Verigin’s photos. Most of the documents were transcribed/written down by individuals working with P. P. Verigin (transcriber is not always indicated). Some of mimeographed documents are original, some are photocopies. Most of documents are in Russian except for some supplied with handwritten or mimeographed translation in English.

This series consists of the personal and the Doukhobor community matters correspondence of P. V. Verigin sent to and received from various members of the CCUB.

This file contains Peter P. Verigin correspondence and instructions to the CCUB business managers (Michael Cazakoff, A. Soukoreff, Michael Verigin) on how to proceed after his death, including the last will dictated to John Bonderoff.

This file contains correspondence of executive members of CCUB: I. Kazakoff, W. P. Reibin, V. M. Dubasoff, W. A. Soukoreff, J. Shukin regarding financial matters of CCUB communities in BC and Saskatchewan.

[Sun Life Assurance land settlement issues]

This file consists of correspondence, legal documents and articles relating to the CCUB land settlement issues with the Sun Life Assurance Company and the National Trust Company. This file contains some original mimeographs records, but majority of the file consists of photocopies. Most of records are in English.

[V.A. Makasaeff's writings]

This file consists of a report recounting the visit of Minister W. J. Bowser to the Doukhobor community in 1914, a mandate to the youth, a circular letter and an appeal all addressed to the Doukhobor community. All documents are original mimeographs in Russian.

Correspondence from P.P. Verigin

This sub-series consists of the personal and Doukhobor community matters correspondence of P. V. Verigin sent to various members of the CCUB, including: A. Katelnikov, I. Shukin, V. Makhonin, N. Kotelnikov, V. Ribin, V. Makhonin, N. Kotelnikov, I. Kutniakov, V. Sukharev, I Tregubov ,Ivan Zebrov, Ivan Rylkoff, Ivan Kanigin, Ivan Dubasov and Mikhail Kazakoff, Leaders of CCUB and Youth Union. Some of the correspondence reflect Verigin’s plan for economic restructuring of the CCUB. All correspondence in this sub-series is mimeographed, except for one hand-written letter. Some of the records are original mimeographs, some are photocopies. Some mimeographs are signed only by P.P. Verigin while others were transcribed from originals by others. Transcriber is not always indicated. All records are in Russian.
