File consists of newspaper, magazine, and journal articles, as well as promotional publications (ex. brochures) and notes relating to a variety of subjects, including the Montreal massacre of 1989 and the history of Chinese Canadians.

“Opening doors - in Vancouver's East End: Strathcona" records

Sub-series consists of records created or accumulated by Marlatt and co-editor Carole Itter while conducting research for and working on the project “Opening Doors - In Vancouver's East End: Strathcona," a work that documents the history and culture of Vancouver's Strathcona neighbourhood through oral history interviews with community members. Records include photographs, a collage, interview transcripts, and other research records.

Label on the top says “GEORGIA st, 1886, log of famous stump at lane cor. Granville & Seymour, 10’4”, some say stump 14’4” widest part, looking N.W. to forest on Burrard. Log lay true N & S across N.E. cor. Granville. J.W. Horne on top. Photo belonged to Dr. J.M. Lefevre. Approx date, fall 1886. JSM”.
