Series contains handwritten and typed manuscripts, notebooks, fragments, published writings by Al Neil, and writings and drawing by others. Series has been arranged into the following three sub-series: Original manuscripts ([196-?]–[before 2010]), Published writings ([1951]–1989), and Works of others (1965–1994).

Government and book information files

Series consists of records documenting government grants, general book business reference material, and the publishing association and group activities of Nunaga Publishing and Rick Antonson. Associations and organizations include the Canada Council, BC Publishers Group, Canadian Book Information Centre and the Independent Publishers Association.

Production files

Series consists of records relating to the physical production of books and broadsides. Activities documented include book design, proof-reading, and printing. Records include correspondence, contracts and agreements, mock-ups, photographs, negatives, and purchase orders.

Organizations and groups

This series documents McCrory’s and Valhalla Wilderness Society interactions with various environmental organization, associations, societies and networks that the VWS cooperated with, intended to cooperate with or gathered information about. The series contains correspondence, reports, notes, agendas, meeting minutes, publications, newsletters, news releases, clippings and other material related to environment.
This series is divided into six sub-series: Canadian groups; United States groups; International groups; Government – NDP; Canada’s Future Forest Alliance; Share and hate / general groups.

Speeches, writings, views

This series consists of documents that were written by P. V. Verigin himself or by other individuals relating his views and ideas. These documents include transcripts of speeches and interviews, petitions, opinion pieces on the Doukhobor community and faith as well as some of the letter-like documents with his opinions on education. It also contains 70 page manuscript in a notebook by F. I. Wishloff recording P.V. Verign’s speeches. All documents in Russian, except for a few documents supplied with English translation.

Photographs

This series consists of 158 images taken by Peter Ogloff of Doukhobor community and Anna Markova’s funeral. The images are duplicates of the original images found on CD-ROMs (MSC121-6-3-0-0-1)

Correspondence

This series consists of the Eli A. Popoff’s personal correspondence and his correspondence as a representative of the USCC which overlap on many occasions. These documents include correspondence with prominent Doukhobors, supporters of the Doukhobor cause in various countries, people interested in Doukhobor history and various organizations and departments of the Federal or Provincial governments. The correspondence is often accompanied by various materials, including writings, brochures, ephemera, promotional material, and clippings.

Publications, clippings, ephemera

This series consists of various published materials such as issues of newspapers, journals, magazines, copy of chapters and articles, clippings, brochures, flyers, booklets, calendars, newsletters, some correspondence and writings relating to the publications. This series also contains events, festivals, choir and other Doukhobor related promotional materials such as posters, flyers and event programs as well as 3 photographs of the choir.

Texts of songs and sound recordings

This series consists of records relating to the Doukhobor music and poetry including texts of songs, pslams and poems, as well as sound recordings of the Doukhobor choirs performances. This series also includes sound recordings containing Russian stories and poetry.
Most of the material is in Russian.
The series is divided into two sub-series: 1: Songs, lyrics, poems; 2: Sound recordings.

Speeches, talks, writings, will

This series consists of mimeographed transcripts of speeches, interviews, talks, writings, messages and will of P. P. Verigin. Most of the records were transcribed/written down by individuals working with P. P. Verigin (transcriber is not always indicated). Some of the transcribers are: V. Sukharev, P. Biriukov, N. Dergaysov, I. Malov. There is only one handwritten message by Verigin himself. Verigin’s will was captured by Mikhail Verigin. In addition, this series includes photocopy of biographical manuscript of “Gloom shadow of Ivan the Terrible” that appears to be written by P.P. Verigin. Some of mimeographed records are original, some are photocopies. All records are in Russian except for some speeches that are supplied with handwritten translation in English.

Correspondence

This series consists of the personal and the Doukhobor community matters correspondence of P. V. Verigin sent to and received from various members of the CCUB.

Manuscripts, correspondence and other records relating to Flood's novels

Series consists of records relating to Flood’s two novels, one published and one unpublished. Records include handwritten and typed manuscripts, correspondence, drafts, research materials, publishing records and a published excerpt. The series is divided into two sub-series: The woman in the window (1974-1980) and Making a stone of the heart (1994-2004).

Essays, talks, reviews and related records

Series consists of records relating to essays, talks and reviews written or given by Flood. Records include drafts, notes and correspondence. Series also includes seven publications in which Flood’s stories are printed: "Paris Transcontinental" (1995); "Event" (1991); "Canadian Forum" (1983, 1993); "The Reader" (Summer 1994, Winter 1994); and "Books In Canada" (1993).

Photographs

Series consists of various production, personal and publicity photographs as well as photographs used for legal purposes.

General correspondence and personal records

This series is comprised of some of Laurier LaPierre’s personal records, including legal and medical records, newspaper articles and both personal and general correspondence. It contains primarily textual records, but also photographs and some ephemera. Included also are programs, cards and ephemera from LaPierre’s funeral.

Records related to term in Senate

This series contains any records related to Laurier LaPierre’s term in the Canadian Senate (2001-2004). These records are primarily comprised of correspondence, official documents, reports and copies or drafts of speeches. Related records can be found in Series 5: Records related to work with charities and organizations and Series 6: Records related to public speaking engagements

Correspondence

This series consists of letters, notes and postcards created and received by various members of the Woodsworth/MacInnis families, primarily Grace MacInnis. Key events mentioned in this correspondence include the Woodsworth family's years in Gibson's Landing, B.C., the period of time between the arrest and release from jail of J.S. Woodsworth in the Winnipeg General Strike of 1919, Lucy Woodworth's participation in the Women's International League conference of 1924, an extended European tour that J.S. and Lucy took in 1932, and the general course of Grace and Angus MacInnis's political careers from the 1930's through the 1960's.

Court case records

Series consists of records related to the court case between the City of Vancouver and Sean O’Flynn-Magee, Jane Doe, John Doe and other unknown persons. It includes: affidavits of Garrick Bradshaw, Penny Ballem, Murray Wightman, Frank Dodich, John McKearney, Cael Hopwood, Brenda Proksen, Blake Chersinoff, and Will Johnston; short leave requisition; notice of civil claim; and notice of application.

Adbusters

Series consists of material relating to Occupy Vancouver either created or received by Adbusters. Included are two flags similar to the American and Canadian flags. The first flag contains the symbols of large corporations. The second flag is decorated with multiple maple leaves that form “99%.” It also includes a copy of the Adbusters magazine The Big Ideas of 2012 and a copy of the book Meme Wars: The Creative Destruction of Neoclassical Economics.

General business correspondence

Series consists of records related to Duke’s personal and administrative affairs. This diverse series includes:
• Personal notes and memos written by Duke for family, friends and staff
• Correspondence received by Duke from family, friends and business associates
• Administrative correspondence received by Duke from agents, publishers and other associates
• Receipts, bills and other financial records
• Personal and administrative faxes

Personal journals

Series consists of notebooks, journals, notes and press clippings. From about 1945 to 2005 Duke made nearly daily entries in notebooks. These notebooks contain Duke’s thoughts, observations and concepts for future projects ranging from articles to screenplays, legal proceedings, housing plans and travel accounts.

Notebooks

Series consists of notebooks kept by Gladys Maria Hindmarch. Notebooks contain journal entries, notes and drafts for her writings, drafts of outgoing letters, and other personal notes.

Writings

This series contains textual materials that Martin Bartlett wrote during the course of his career. Some are academic texts on composition and the use of electronics or tuning systems. Others are published works from yachting magazines, others are musings on the nature of art, beauty, and nature. There is also some information from grant applications and concert programs.

Press clippings

Series consists of newspaper clippings of advertisements, announcements, articles and letters to the editor documenting the activities of and publicity received by Duthie Books Ltd., including those addressing the subject of Duthie Books' bankruptcy and financial restructuring.

Publication files

Series consists of records relating to Duthie Books’ publishing activities, including their book review periodical “The Reader,” “The New Reader,” as well as catalogues, guides and various staff, customer and employee newsletters. Series is divided into three sub-series: Original reader files (1986-1995); New Reader files (1996-1999); and Catalogue and newsletter files ([198-]-1999).
