Biographical history

Beverley (Bev) Blackmore Leech was born to Dr. Beverley C. and Elsie Mary (nee Steele) Leech on December 15, 1935. Bev studied book design at the Vancouver School of Art (now Emily Carr University of Art and Design) and went on to have a long career as a designer, notably with Morriss Printing in Victoria, B.C. Bev Leech died on January 23, 2019.

Fonds consists of 22 linocut blocks created by Bev Leech in 1961, as a senior thesis project at the Vancouver School of Art (now Emily Carr University of Art and Design) to produce the book, A Glossary of Typographical Terms by Simon Oliver.

Blocks are in good condition and have residual ink from the printing process.

Materials were purchased by SFU Special Collections and Rare Books from Heavenly Monkey Press.
