        Recovery of the Public World (the phrase is borrowed from Hannah Arendt) was a literary conference held June 1-4, 1995 in Vancouver B.C. at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design to honour the achievement of the Vancouver poet and teacher Robin Blaser on his 70th birthday. The event was attended by poets from around the world, including Canadians Michael Ondaatje, Steve McCaffery, Phyllis Webb, George Bowering, Fred Wah, and Daphne Marlatt; and a number of Americans, including Michael Palmer, Charles Bernstein and Norma Cole.
