Custodial history

Photographs in F-54-3-2-8-60 were given to the Archives on March 1, 1980 by Ted Macrae from the Resources Office. Macrae served as secretary to the External Review Committee and these are the original b&w photographs taken for inclusion in the final report prepared by the Residence and Housing External Review Committee in 1979.

Scope and content

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the daily administration of residences on campus and includes housing reports and student residence proposals; residence rental contracts; new residences planning documents; policies and procedures; and correspondence with students in residence, the City of Burnaby, the Tenant's Association, Residence Policy Committee, Residence Appeals Committee, Residence and Housing External Review Committee, and the Budget Committee. Also documented are issues related to residence staffing, living restrictions, campus parking, security and renovations, rental increases, student complaints, and publications produced by Residences about campus and off-campus housing. Records include correspondence and working papers, agendas and minutes, reports, financial statements, budgets, contracts, architectural plans and publications.

Physical condition

Immediate source of acquisition

This subseries contains a number of university residential planning reports and proposals dating from 1964 to 1976. While most of these reports accompanied the residence files held by Bill Stewart, some of the reports were added to the subseries from an artificial collection of residence planning reports/proposals that had been accumulated from unknown sources by prior Archives staff. The decision was made to integrate these reports with this fonds because the housing reports relate directly to records in this subseries.
