Series consists of records relating to the Vice-President, Academic's interactions with the senior administrator responsible for student services and with university administrative departments during periods in which they reported to that position. Responsibility for student services was reorganized several times over the period covered by this series, and the records include correspondence with the Dean of Student Affairs (1969-1971), the Vice-President, University Services (1971-1977), and the Director of Student Services (1977-1980). Activities and topics documented include the administrative organization of the portfolio; budget planning; liaison with the Simon Fraser Student Society; and development of student services programs including financial aid, scholarships, day care, residence and housing, health services, and employment and career services.
