Canada Employment Centre

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the daily administration of the Canada Employment Centre (Canada Manpower Centre) and includes annual reports; statistics; policies and procedures; documents regarding employment recruiting and student job placement assistance; goals and objectives of the Centre; correspondence with the university community, government, and other universities; budget reports and staffing positions; brochures and posters advertising services of the employment centre; newsletters from the University and College Placement Association; and the report "Canada Employment Centre on Campus - SFU: A History and Overview." Records include correspondence and working papers, reports, budgets, publications, and newspaper clippings.

Canada

This sub-sub-series contains records related to forestry and pulp industry across Canada and contains information about individual provinces as well as Canadian situation in general. Some records document Indigenous peoples’ situation in relation to land use and industrial activities.

Campus development records

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the determination and development of a permanent location for the University. Activities, events and topics documented include temporary accommodation arrangements; the consideration of various sites; negotiations with the Provincial government for a permanent location; negotiations with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) for the Surrey City Central site; the design of and acquisition of funds for the building at the City Central site; and the development of a facilities program for the City Central campus. Records include correspondence; reports, briefs, and working papers; minutes and supporting papers; agreements; financial reports; promotional material; and architectural drawings.

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the Business and Finance Commitee. Activities, events and topics documented include Committee meetings and membership, and University budgets and financial issues. Records include minutes and supporting papers; correspondence; budgets and financial statements; and membership lists.

British Columbia Legislative Assembly

Sub-subseries consists of photographs arising from activities of the British Columbia Legislative Assembly, such as meetings, the opening of legislative sessions, and other activities. Subseries includes photographs of Members of the British Columbia Legislative Assembly, seated in the Assembly, engaged in committee work and other activities, as well as individual portraits of various political figures. Subseries also contains photographs from a trade meeting and a Premiers' conference. Photographs of MLA activities include a photo of the Canadian Confederation Centennial Committee of British Columbia, as well as photos of MLA's at various events. Trade meeting photographs include Bennett and individuals such as representatives from the Council of the Forest Industries of British Columbia and from the Timber Trade Federation of the United Kingdom. Premiers' conference photographs include Bennett and other provincial delegates at an unidentified location.

British Columbia government projects

Sub-subseries consists of photographs arising from various construction projects and other undertakings of the British Columbia government. Materials relate to the Okanagan Lake Bridge, the Trail Bridge, the Port Mann Bridge, the Deas Island Tunnel, the Castlegar pulp mill, the British Columbia Vocational School, the Peace River project, various B.C. Power Commission projects, brush cutting activities in various areas of B.C., and other projects.

British Columbia

This sub-sub-series contains material related to forestry industry in British Columbia, specifically including records related to the following companies: Slocan Forest Products, Canfor, Omineca, and Celgar pulp mills. Many records relate to the forest management policies, logging quotas and statistics as well as legislation establishing the Allowable Annual Cuts. Some documents discuss the British Columbia situation in general and some discuss the specific geographic regions, such as Kootenays Vancouver Island, Northeast BC, etc. as well as specific forestry issues, such as old growth logging, timber supply and sales. It contains reports, proposal and plans, analysis, papers, articles, regulations, maps, correspondence, clippings, newsletters, notes, etc. Some records document Indigenous peoples’ situation in relation to land use and industrial activities.

Bookstore

Sub-sub-series consists of the Vice-President, Academic's correspondence with, related to, or copied from the University Bookstore during the period when it was administratively part of the Library and belonged to the VP Academic's reporting portfolio (1970-1985; 1990-1994). Activities and topics documented include management, operations, and finances of the Bookstore, policy development, and staff relations. Records include correspondence, reports (including a 1970 study of the financial situation and the 1975/76 annual report), and financial and operating statements.
