Sub-series consists of records relating to matters affecting the terms and conditions of employment of university academic teaching staff. Activities and topics documented include development, revision, interpretation, and reorganization of the university's academic policies and procedures, including appointment, faculty workload, and the harassment policy; faculty recruitment planning, leaves, sabbaticals, and retirements; the university's employment equity program and the activities and deliberations of the Salary Equity Study Committee and the Employment Equity Advisory Committee; faculty salaries and the activities of the Market Differential Advisory Committee (1991-1993) and the University Salary Appeals Committee (1992-1995); faculty renewal, tenure and promotion processes and the activities of the University Tenure Committee. Records include correspondence, reports, policies, drafts and working papers, faculty position authorizations, performance review statistics, questionnaires, meeting agendas and minutes, and university Compliance Review Reports by the SFU Employment Equity Coordinator.

Sub-series consists of records relating to various matters relating to teaching and staff, including salaries, benefits, teaching load, policy development, faculty discipline procedures, research ethics (including the activities of the University Research Ethics Review Committee), faculty exchange programs, contracts for services (including the contract relating to the SFU / Secwepemc Cultural Education Society program), faculty disputes, and faculty and university responses to the province-wide general strike ("Operation Solidarity") in 1983. Records include correspondence, reports, faculty handbooks, the Simon Fraser Student Society teacher and course evaluation guide (1980), sessional budget requests, policies and procedures, agreements and contracts, and legal advice.

Teaching Support Staff Union (TSSU)

Sub-series consists of records relating to the university's consultations and negotiations with the Teaching Support Staff Union (TSSU). Activities and topics documented include collective bargaining negotiations, the activities of the TSSU Labour / Management Committee, interpretations of collective bargaining provisions, and union grievances. Records include correspondence, statistics and reports, Labour Relations Board (LRB) decisions, legal advice, collective bargaining proposals and agreements, meeting minutes, notes and working papers, and printed reference material.

TechBC historical files

Sub-series consists of records maintained by the Office of the President for historical purposes. Activities, events and topics documented include the establishment and development of TechBC; the Fraser Valley University Society's role in the creation of TechBC; opening of the University; the political and educational climate surrounding the University's development; the President's daily activities; program and services development; funding; and television and radio interviews. Records include Internal Planning Reports produced in 1996 and 1997 to facilitate the planning of the University. Records include reports and proposals; correspondence; brochures; calendars; minutes and agendas; presentations; course outlines; working papers; notes; day calendar; certificate of incorporation; and videocassettes, audiocassettes, and artifacts.

TeleLearning demonstration disks

Sub-series consists of compact disks (CDs) containing TeleLearning products for public demonstration. Demonstrations include an internet course reader, course delivery and course enhancement software for the internet, and a practitioner's guide to telelearning.

TeleLearning web site

Sub-series consists of the TeleLearning web site as it was in September 2002, when it was burned onto a compact disk. Earlier versions of the web site were not preserved. The main sections include Home page, Profile, Activities and events, Research projects, Conference, Contact, K-12, Post-secondary, Teachers, Workplace, En français, Talk to us, and a Member / researcher section.

Telling It: Women and Language Across Cultures conference files

Sub-series consists of records relating to the "Telling It: Women and Language Across Cultures" conference held by the department on 25 and 26 November 1988 at the downtown SFU campus. Speakers at the conference included Jeannette Armstrong, Barbara Herringer, Surjeet Kalsey, Joy Kogawa, Sky Lee, Lee Maracle, Louise Profeit-LeBlanc, and Betsy Warland. There was also a performance by Vancouver Sath. Records include registration and speaker lists, correspondence, grant proposals, promotional materials, evaluations, documentation relating to a bibliography, a final budget, and other documents.
