Canadabooks

Subseries consists of records relating to the Canadabooks project. Documented are its endeavors to increase the sale of members' titles in the educational field through salespersons and production of joint catalogues. Included are bylaws, minutes and papers of the Board of Governors and general meetings, correspondence, financial statements, contracts, reports and catalogues.

Canada's Future Forest Alliance

This sub-series contains records of the Canada’s Future Forest Alliance (CFFA) organization formed by Colleen McCrory in 1991 during her cross-country journey to mobilize grassroot movement to protect boreal forests. This organization brought together the network of environmentalists, Indigenous peoples, labor and community groups and individuals interested in the reform of forest policy and practices. The records contain organization’s mission statement, correspondence, memos, press releases, notes, lists of organizations, and other records.

Canadian Association of Professional Apiculturalists

Sub-series comprises copies of records of the annual meetings of the Canadian Association of Professional Apiculturalists. The organization began as the Canadian Association of Apiarists but registered as a professional association in 1975 and changed its name to the current form in that year. It continues as an active organization. The Association promotes cooperation among professional apiculturalists working in agricultural administration, extension or research. Its members generally are employed by federal or provincial governments or universities. The Association maintains a consultative role in relation to the Canadian Honey Council and acts as a liaison with apiculturalists in other countries. Records in this sub-series consist of minutes and proceedings.

Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT)

Sub-series consists of records relating to the Vice-President, Academic's interactions with the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT). Activities and topics documented include CAUT's 1971 censure of SFU relating to the dispute in the university's Political Science, Sociology and Anthropology (PSA) Department, university governance, faculty benefits, and development of research ethics policies. Records include correspondence, reports, news releases and other CAUT printed material.

Canadian Beekeepers' Council

Sub-series comprises records documenting the activities of the Canadian Beekeepers' Council. The Council was established in 1939 to study problems relating to the marketing of bee products and to promote education and standards. Records consist of correspondence, reports, a pamphlet, and a programme.

Canadian Book Information Centre

Subseries consists of records of the Canadian Book Information Centre prior to its restructuring in 1976. Also documented is the Library Information Project, a survey of libraries intended to enhance the services offered by publishers and suppliers. Included are minutes and papers of the management and executive committees, correspondence, brochures, catalogues, reports and budgets.

Canadian Farmworkers Union interviews and transcripts

Sub-series consists of records arising from Hari Sharma's research into institutional racism in the workplace and focuses on farm labour in British Columbia where labour migrations (from South Asia and elsewhere) have created a multiracial working class. Includes questionnaires, responses, notes, memos, membership campaign materials, and articles written by Sharma.

This sub-series contains records related to Canadian based organization in general and some specific to the individual provinces, with the majority of records relating to BC organizations, including British Columbia Environmental Network that Colleen McCrory was involved in.

Series consists of drafts for Cane|Fire, a book of poetry by Mootoo.

Capital budget

Sub-series consists of records relating to the allocation of departmental capital budgets to units with the Vice-President, Academic's reporting portfolio. Activities and topics documented include university capital planning, and allocation of funds for departmental computing equipment, renovations and office space. Records include correspondence, requests, SFU capital plans, and architectural plans and drawings.

Cartoons and other artwork by Peter Trower

Sub-series consists of cartoons, sketch books, drawings and paintings by Peter Trower, including material produced by Trower during his time as a student at the Vancouver School of Art, 1958 to 1959. Includes watercolours, ink, pencil, charcoal and pastel drawings. Cartoons pertain to the logging and aluminum industry, international politics, local politics and issues, the hippie movement, and super-hero spoofs. The subject matter of the drawings and sketches include Peter Trower (self-portraits), family members, friends, models, logging, Trower’s homes in North Vancouver and Gibsons, British Columbia, and in various places in Vancouver, Gibsons, and Port Alice. Series also includes three copies of Jack Wise’s only know cartoon.

Catalogues

Sub-series consists of a run of Press Gang catalogues and sample posters from the 1990s as well as sample catalogues from earlier periods.
