Sage Hill Poetry Colloquium development records

Sub-series consists of records relating to Daphne Marlatt's activities at the annual Sage Hill Poetry Colloquium in Saskatchewan, associated with the Sage Hill Writing Experience. Marlatt served as the colloquium's facilitator. Records include correspondence, brochures, articles, evaluations, and notes.

This sub-series contains printed and digital musical scores, also includes some transparencies for publishing purposes and is mostly textual records.

Selkrik College

This sub-series consists of the records relating to Eli Popoff’s seminar series on the Doukhobor history, customs and beliefs at the Selkirk College in Castlegar, B.C. The records consist of original unpublished material written by Popoff.
The sub-series contains presentation notes, lectures material, correspondence, registration details and other related material.

Serials

This sub-series consists of single or multiply issues of the serials, magazines and journals. Some of the general serials contain only a single article relating to the Doukhobors. Other serials such as Iskra and Vestnik are published by the Doukhobor community themselves and are dedicated to the matters of the Doukhobors entirely.

"Shadow Catch" records

Sub-series consists of records relating to the chamber opera "Shadow Catch," for which Marlatt composed the libretto. The opera was affiliated with the Pro Musica Society of Vancouver's Further East Further West Series, as well as the City of Vancouver's 125th Anniversary Celebration. "Shadow Catch" ran from December 2-4, 2011 at the Firehall Arts Centre in Vancouver. Records include draft scripts, correspondence, articles, musical scores, photographs, programs, and advertisements.

Share and hate/general groups

This sub-series contains records related to Share groups or Share societies of BC that formed in response to the forest preservation movements and formation of the parks. Share societies aimed at the protection of working land and use of the forest for their livelihood. In addition, this sub-series contains records related to the anti-environmental groups, religious/cult groups, wise use movement group, forest and pulp mill industry sympathizers and other similar groups and movements that opposed the protection of forests. Some materials related to the matters of racism, human rights and free speech.

Singing forest

This sub-series contains records related to campaign to protect the old growth forest in West Kootenay, located at the East side of the Tenise Creek and a portion of Howser Creek that local people call “Singing forest”.

Slides

Sub-series contains slides compiled by James Delgado during the filming of "The Sea Hunters." Slides relate to several locations, shipwrecks, and events featured in the series, including Vrouw Maria (Finland), Fox (Greenland), USS Akron, Dresden (Chile), and D-day.

Slides

Sub-series consists of photographic slides created or compiled by James Delgado through his professional and personal activities. Includes slides compiled by Delgado for research, writing, and other professional activities, as well as slides created from personal family photographs. Slides depict archaeological sites Delgado has visited, shipwreck sites he has studied, historical landmarks and other sites related to his work, and photographs compiled for the use in his publications and lectures.

Songs, lyrics, poems

This sub-series consists of sheets, booklets, notebooks, flyers, program, and clippings containing texts of songs, psalms, hymns, poems, lyrics and related material that were created and/or collected by members of the Doukhobor community. These records were compiled and prepared for various celebratory events and holidays as well as for everyday life.

Sons of Freedom related documents

This sub-series consists of various documents that relate to the Sons of Freedom, including protests, imprisonment, legal matters, children’s detention, conflict with the government officials and interactions with the CCBRD. The documents include: correspondence, notes, writings, statements, petitions, appeals, lists, protocols, declarations, resolutions, court proceedings, clippings, and reports.

S.S. Central America records

Sub-series consists records relating to the sinking of the ship S.S. Central America in 1857, as well as records relating to the ship's salvage and the resulting court case regarding ownership of its treasure, for which Delgado served as an expert witness. Records include newspaper articles, research records, and legal documents.

Stephan Sorokin correspondence and documents

This sub-series consists various documents that specifically refer to Stephan Sorokin as individual and/or as a leader of the Doukhobors and the CCBRD, or were written by Sorokin. Most of the documents in this sub-series consists of correspondence and writings. Sorokin's letters were addressed to community or to individuals and were written in BC, Los Angeles and Montevideo. Many documents are focused on Sorokin's involvement in the activities an beliefs of the Sons of Freedom.

Submissions to film festivals

Subseries consists of films that film-makers, production companies, students, and others submitted for screening in the IMAG annual Aboriginal Film and Video Festival. Subseries includes films that were selected for screening and films that were not selected for screening.
