The date range (1993-2014) reflects Rowling's period of involvement in the director organization of the festival. As a director of the GCBF Society, Rowling kept an extensive set of digital files for each year's festival, typically using the same or a similar set of folders to organize the records. Records include festival business plans, surveys and reports; correspondence with breweries, exhibitors, and the BC Liquor Control Board; application and order forms; budgets, invoices and donation correspondence; volunteer task lists and manuals; publicity and media packages. Records exist exclusively in digital form; original file formats are predominantly Microsoft Office documents (doc, docx, xls, xlsx), with a small number of pdfs, jpgs, and PowerPoint files.

Rowling created a scrapbook (digitized as file 1) presenting examples in roughly chronological order, ranging from early Victoria breweries (Sliver Spring, Victoria-Phoenix) through to contemporary craft breweries. In addition to the scrapbook there were a large number of loose labels grouped into envelopes. Labels for pre-craft beer period breweries are arranged in file 2, craft breweries (post-1982) into file 3. Within these groupings, labels are arranged alphabetically by brewery.

Most posters originate in the craft beer period (post-1982), but file 6 includes two posters for the historical Silver Springs Brewery in Victoria. Other breweries represented include R&B Brewing Company (ca. 1990s), Spinnakers Brewpub (ca. 1990s), Tall Ship Ale Company (ca. 1990s), Cannery Brewing Company (2001), and Phillips Brewing Company (2011). The sub-series also includes a poster for Hopunion (ca. 2000s) and a 1997 poster on BC's Microbrewed Experience.

Sub-sub-series 2 contains a copy of a 1990 issue of the newsletter (also called What's Brewing) produced by CAMRA Canada. All records in this sub-series are in paper format.

Subjects include SFU architecture, campus scenes, and photos of university community members (Pauline Jewett, Chris Davies, David Skulski, A.J. Grants, Paul Cote, Wolfgang Youngrau, James B. Griffin, and R.W. Wylie). File 1 contains a series of photographs from the life of SFU Chancellor Gordon Shrum, including a World War I portrait and photos of his years at UBC and BC Hydro; some of these images were used in the the film produced by the Audio-Visual Centre This is SFU (1972).

Sub-series consists of print and born-digital calendars produced by Adbusters Media Foundation and their associated records. Print materials include 19 Adbusters calendars, dated to 1994, 1997, 1999-2008, 2012, and 2015-2020.

Born-digital materials include digital copies of calendars, mockups, advertisement graphics, artist permissions tracking tables, printing invoices, lists of famous quotes to include, lists of important dates to mark off, and thank-you notes. These born-digital records are associated with the calendars published from 2001-2003, 2005-2014, and 2018-2020. While there is some overlap, print calendars and born-digital records in this sub-series do not necessarily correlate.

Sub-series contains paper and born-digital records related to the Adbusters Media Literacy Kit, Media Empowerment Kit, and the implementation of media literacy workshops. Paper records include the Adbusters Media Lit Kit (2010), as well as two photocopies of a media literacy workshop supplement. Born-digital records include advertisement graphics, flyers, workshop powerpoint presentation templates (in PDF format), workshop notes, media lit kit assembly how-to guides, correspondence, contact lists, draft email templates, order forms, page revisions, Adbusters spoof ads, and a digital copy of a Media Empowerment DVD featuring Adbusters' TV spots.

Born-digital copies of the Adbusters Media Literacy Kit (2006), Adbusters Media Empowerment Kit (2007), Adbusters Media Lit Kit (2010), and the Adbusters Media Empowerment Kit (2012) are also included.
