General records

Series consists of general research records and works of others kept by Wah for personal and professional purposes, as well as other types of records relating to these works, such as related correspondence.

General records

Sub-series consists of records relating to Series consists of records relating to the various residencies and related programs that Wah has participated in during his career. Wah has participated in several residencies throughout his career, including being a writer-in-residence at the University of Alberta from 1988-1989, and at Simon Fraser University from 2006-2007. He has also participated in residencies at the Banff Centre for the Arts. Records include correspondence, promotional materials, and administrative records.

General records

This sub-series contains records related to general environmental, wilderness and biodiversity issues across Canada and in other location in the world. The issues mentioned include: pesticide, poisons, pollution, endangered animal and plant species, garbage and recycling, and ecosystems conservation issues. The records include reports, articles, news items, correspondence, brochures, ephemera, maps, photographs, and samples.

Sub-series consists of records relating to various book projects of Trower’s which have not been published. Projects include “Busted for Pot,” “Kisses in the Whiskey,” “Vancouver Centennial Anthology,” “Wild West Coast Woods,” and "Echos from another life." Record types include manuscripts, proposals, and chapter outlines.

Sub-series consists of records relating to Wah's various writings and publications, such as writing drafts, manuscript pages, notes, correspondence, and copies of writings in their published form. Includes records relating to Wah's poetry, essays, reviews, as well as writings that are part of collaborative artistic projects. Several files contain records relating to the books "Music at the Heart of Thinking," published by Red Deer College Press in 1987, and "is a door," published by Talonbooks in 2010.

This sub-series contains records related to Valhalla organizational activities in relation to Colleen McCrory work, including presentation, contact lists, memos, and general matters.

Sub-series consists of records relating to the Canadian Farmworkers Union’s research and advocacy of numerous issues including working conditions, workers in other countries, and minority groups. Records include newspaper clippings, research material, and correspondence

Sub-series consists of journals and notebooks, speeches, statements, short stories, a translation, and grant applications completed by Blaser.

Sub-series consists of articles, poems, manuscripts, and other works written by other authors. Some works are unpublished versions and drafts sent to Blaser and include both handwritten and typescript materials.

Sub-series consists of correspondence, photographs, ephemera, notebooks, and other records generated from Doris French Shackleton’s career as a freelance writer and journalist.

Sub-series consists of records relating to Gladys Maria Hindmarch's general writing and editorial activities, including those relating to her books "Sketches" (1970), "A Birth Account" (1976), "The Peter Stories" (1976), as well as to her works of short prose. Also includes records relating to her editorial work for a proposed women's magazine with the working title "Canadian Women’s Monthly." Record types in this series include drafts, notes, research records, and correspondence.

Goodwin family and early years notes and research records

Sub-series consists of records created or accumulated by Stonebanks relating to his research about Ginger Goodwin’s family, genealogy, and his early life in England. Records include notes written by Stonebanks and research records such as birth and death certificates and census records. Research materials from this sub-series were used primarily for chapter 1 of Stonebanks’ book.

Governement - NDP

This sub-series contains records related to the National Democratic Party (NDP) as political party of BC and as the Government of British Columbia as well as the major party at the federal level. This sub-series documents NDP policies focused on the environmental protection and the forestry industry of British Columbia and Canada. Some files refer to the individual NDP members as party candidates or as elected representatives: Don Carlett, Corky Evans, Lois Boone, Jim Fulton, and Mike Hartcourt. This sub-series contains correspondence, reports, analysis, promotional material, clippings, press releases, articles, minutes and other records.

Governement policies and documents

This sub-series contains various reports, policies and recommendation of government agencies in relation to environment, forestry, land use, water and similar. Most of the records in this sub-series are related to the British Columbia government, and some records are related to the federal government of Canada and some to the government of the US.

Grant applications

Sub-series consists of grant applications and supporting materials submitted by filling Station Publications Society to granting organizations such as the Canada Council for the Arts and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.

Green book

This sub-series consists of a compiled book containing correspondence, court documents, memos, and news items on the subject of two legal actions that took place in 1990 and 1991 as a result of the outcome of a challenge nomination meeting in Burnaby Edmonds riding. It is unique for historical purposed as it will give a detailed view of the circumstances and outcome of a rare and unusual political situation. Specifically, while there have been judicial recounts of election results in the past, court decisions on nomination meeting outcomes are very rare.

Sub-series consists of records relating to a proposed film adaptation of Peter Trower’s novel "Grogan’s Cafe." Includes several versions of the film’s screenplay, as well as correspondence with New City Productions Inc., the company interested in producing the film.

Sub-series consists of material relating to the development of Trower's 2004 book "Haunted Hills and Hanging Valleys."Includes several draft manuscripts, including the first selection of poems and the final draft, as well as correspondence between Trower and Harbour Publishing.
