Series contains handwritten text, and copies of newspaper clippings. The handwritten text may relate to A Voice was Heard in Ramah. The newspaper clippings were used for research when writing Bleak November.

Series contains both incoming and outgoing correspondence. The correspondence relates to June's professional life as a writer and her personal life. It is arranged in six sub-series: Correspondence related to novels (1959-1992); Correspondence from publishing companies (1953-1965); Correspondence with agents (1954-1981); Correspondence with Al Hart (1960-1990); General (1958-1992); and Personal ([1949?]-2000).

Related material may be found in the Audio-visual material sub-series, which contains recordings of interviews with Mootoo. Dates suggest, however, that they do not correspond to the transcripts in this series.

Series consists of correspondence sent and received by Mootoo. Records include cards and letters sent by friends and admirers, printed emails exchanged between Mootoo and her agent and publishers, and other professional and personal correspondence.

Series consists of publications of Mootoo's poetic and prose works.

Series consists of manuscripts, typescript drafts and working papers for Mootoo’s literary compositions, including novels, short stories, poetry, and lectures and talks delivered on various occasions.

Series consists of chapbooks published by the filling Station Publications Society from 1993–2006.

Event files

Series consists of publicity clippings and promotional items documenting literary events hosted by the filling Station Publications Society. These include calls for submissions, contest advertisements, published articles and reviews, recordings of readings, photographs, flyers, and posters.

Editorial files

Series consists of records generated from editorial work on chapbooks and issues of "filling Station" magazine. These include page proofs, edited submissions, commissioned artwork, writer’s guidelines, and production instructions.

Marketing files

Series consists of records documenting the marketing efforts of members of the filling Station Publications Society. These include requests for review copies, notes, submissions to the Western Magazine Awards, a National Magazine Award Honourable Mention, and promotional material advertising the magazine.

Series consists of records documenting the financial management of the filling Station Publications Society and "filling Station" magazine. Record types include bank statements, invoices, ledgers, tax returns, and distribution payment records.

Administrative records

Series consists of records generated from the administration of the filling Station Publications Society and the publication of "filling Station" magazine. These include minutes, correspondence, notes, grant and award applications, submissions, forms, subscriber lists, contact lists and distribution requests. Series is divided into the following four sub-series: Minutes (1993–1997); General administrative records ([199-]–1999]); Correspondence (1993–1999); and Grant applications (1995–2008).
