Minutes and executive reports

Sub-series consists of minutes from Farm Workers’ Organizing Committee meetings as well as both national and regional (Local 1) meetings of the Canadian Farmworkers Union, internal meeting notes by various union members, and executive reports.

Miscellaneous works

Sub-series consists of drafts of various short works written by Mootoo over a span of years, mainly works that are as yet unpublished. The sub-series also includes draft essays and lectures given by Mootoo on various occasions.

"Mother-daughter relationships" course development records

Sub-series consists of records relating to Daphne Marlatt's Women's Studies course on mother-daughter relationships, taught at the University of Victoria and the University of Saskatchewan. Records include articles, lecture notes, correspondence, student evaluations, syllabi, and other course material.

Moving through the mystery records

Sub-series consists of a draft manuscript by Trower titled "Tapdance on Quicksand," which evolved into "Moving Through the Mystery," published in 1969.

MRA Conferences

This sub-series consists of the records related to the Moral Re-Armament Conferences held in Caux, Switzerland in the 1990s. The records include promotional material, booklets, brochures, photographs, publications, diary, Canadian Newsletter published by Moral Re-Armament and other related material.

"My Father Took a Cake to France" notes, drafts and other records

Sub-series consists of records relating to the writing and publishing of Flood’s second collection of short stories, "My Father Took a Cake to France." Records include notes, drafts, correspondence with publishers and contracts. Sub-series also includes six publications in which Flood’s stories are printed: "Frictions: Stories By Women" (1989); "Descant" (1991); "Malahat" (1989); "Room Of One's Own" (1988); "Quarry" (1990); and "Books In Canada" (1990).

New Reader files

Series is comprised of records documenting the editorial and production of the "New Reader," a quarterly book review journal edited by Celia Duthie and published by Duthie Books from 1996-1999. One issue per year was titled the "Children’s Reader."

No press publications

Series consists of the chapbooks published by No press from 2005 to 2015. Individual publications are listed in the attached pdf bibliography.

Non-fiction works records

Sub-series consists of research, correspondence, publicity, contracts, royalty statements, photographs and other material relating to Shackleton’s published works of non-fiction. Sub-series is arranged into the following sub-sub-series: “Ask No Quarter: A Biography of Agnes Macphail” (1956-1995); “High Button Bootstraps: Women’s Teachers’ Federation of Ontario” (1964-1975); “Tommy Douglas” (1943-1999); “Powertown: Democracy Discarded” (1973-1986); and “Ishbel and the Empire: A Biography of Lady Aberdeen” (1973-1998).

Sub-series consists of records relating to the Canadian Farmworkers Union’s research and advocacy of occupational health and safety awareness and legislation, including correspondence, briefs prepared for government, newspaper clippings, and reference materials. Records also include awareness posters, blueprints of worker housing, educational materials, and photographs of child workers on farms.

Sub-series consists of draft short stories and drafts of the collection of short stories published as Out on Main Street in 1993. A small amount of correspondence dates to 1998.

Sub-series consists of James Delgado's outgoing correspondence, primarily relating to his professional activities. Correspondence from 1978 to 1991 focuses on Delgado’s time as Historian for the National Park Service, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and includes his responses for requests for information, reports on historic sites and shipwrecks authored by Delgado, and focuses on several specific projects he undertook during his time there. Correspondence from 2004 to 2010 primarily relates to the business of the Vancouver Maritime Museum.

Sub-series consists of outgoing correspondence from Blaser to family, friends, and colleagues. Material includes handwritten and typed correspondence, as well as facsimile and email correspondence.

Subseries contains documents related to organizing panels that were held at the IMAGeNation film and video festival.

Parks

Valhalla Society’s Endangered Wilderness Map project was a base for creation of the first proposal for comprehensive wilderness protection in Canada. That campaign highlighted the loss of wilderness and need for protection of ecosystems in the province of British Columbia. As a result, the public demand for protected areas and new parks led to creation of regional CORE (Commission on Resources and the Environment) that contributed to establishment of 100 new parks. This sub-series contains records on the state of national and provincial parks as well as federal and provincial acts and policies regarding parks and wilderness protection. This sub-series documents the approach of the government agencies, involved political parties, Indigenous peoples, industries and environmental groups. The records document wilderness areas and endangered species considered of high importance that should be protected in British Columbia and other provinces. This sub-series includes reports, maps, correspondence, management plans, government wilderness policy plans, annual reports news releases, articles, clippings, ephemera, brochures, notes, recommendations, etc.

Parliamentary Poet Laureate records

Sub-series consists of records relating to Wah’s activities as Parliamentary Poet Laureate of Canada, a position he occupied from 2011-2013. Records include correspondence, writings by Wah, travel and event records, and administrative records.

Partial manuscripts, drafts, and notes

This sub-series, consisting primarily of loose handwritten pages, consists of draft versions of poems or miscellaneous thoughts in draft form. This represents the bulk of the fonds, and was received in an unorganized state. There is next to no order between files, many of which will contain iterations of the same work.

Party office

This sub-series contains collected original files from Party Office covering constituencies during the 1986 provincial campaign. The files contain provincial campaign promotional material, correspondence, memos, posters and other materials relating to the 1986 campaign and Social Credit candidates in all British Colombia electoral districts.

Personal

This sub-series contains June's incoming correspondence from family and friends. Some of the correspondence is addressed to June's children or both her and her husband Fred.
