Radiation safety

Series consists of records related to radiation safety in the facilities of the Department. It includes memoranda, policy and procedure documents, and reports.

Radical Campus files

Series consists of research material gathered by Hugh Johnston for his book Radical Campus: Making Simon Fraser University. Radical Campus was published to coincide with the university's 40th anniversary in 2005. Subjects, events and activities documented include the socio-political context of post-secondary education in the 1960s; the establishment of SFU; the rise of student activism; the growth of academic departments and faculties; the role of prominent members of the SFU community; and the governance and administration of SFU. Series includes photocopied newspaper articles; photocopied fonds material such as correspondence, memoranda, minutes, reports, press releases, briefs, bulletins, book excerpts, drafts, curriculum vitae, interview transcriptions; working papers; audiocassette recordings; chapter drafts; and indices.

Readings, festivals and events records

Series consists of records relating to Peter Trower’s readings, his musical performances, and his participation in various literary festivals, conferences and other events. Series includes video and sound recordings of readings by Trower and readings by other authors, including Al Purdy and Patrick Lane. Also included are video and audio recordings of Caulk Boots & Marlin Spikes performances that Trower participated in, and a video recording copy of the "Between the Sky and the Splinters" documentary, filmed by the CBC in 1976. Record types include correspondence, notes, reading programs, set lists, newspaper articles and clippings, as well as posters, brochures, and other promotional material.

Recordings of interviews and events

Series consists of audiocassettes of a presentation on women's political activisim in Belgrade, Serbia, called "Voice of Difference" as well as a recording of CBC's The House, an interview with Studio 4, and the Women's Campaign School reception.

Records about P. P. Verigin

This series consists of documents reporting details of events attended by P. P. Verigin or events related to him. These accounts relate to P.P. Verigin’s arrival in Canada, his visit to Saskatchewan, his visit to the Sons of Freedom in God’s Valley and P.P. Verigin’s wrath at Verigin communalists. In addition, this series contains index of documents written by or relating to P.P. Verigin and letter of E. G. Sherstobitoff requesting enlargement of Verigin’s photos. Most of the documents were transcribed/written down by individuals working with P. P. Verigin (transcriber is not always indicated). Some of mimeographed documents are original, some are photocopies. Most of documents are in Russian except for some supplied with handwritten or mimeographed translation in English.

This series is comprised of records related to research Jim compiled while researching legal topics relevant to publishing such as libel, copyright, contract and professional standards.

Records related to public speaking engagements

Due to the success of his broadcasting and writing careers, as well as his involvement with charitable organizations and service as a Senator, LaPierre was often called upon to speak at or chair events. This series, primarily correspondence, is comprised of records related to these engagements.

Records related to term in Senate

This series contains any records related to Laurier LaPierre’s term in the Canadian Senate (2001-2004). These records are primarily comprised of correspondence, official documents, reports and copies or drafts of speeches. Related records can be found in Series 5: Records related to work with charities and organizations and Series 6: Records related to public speaking engagements

Records related to work with charities and organizations

Laurier LaPierre invested significant time contributing to various charities and organizations throughout his life. This series is comprised of records, primarily correspondence and reports, relating to is work with these entities. Some of these activities took place during his service as Senator, so related records can be found in Series 4: Records related to term in Senate and Series 6: Records related to public speaking engagements.

Records related to writing career

This series contains any records related to LaPierre’s writing activities, primarily research for books and drafts of various projects. Included are versions of his published works as well as several unfinished manuscripts in various stages of completion.

Records relating to childhood/high school

This series is comprised of material associated with Ajaib’s early years living on Vancouver Island through to his attendance at two Vancouver-area high schools: Kitsilano High School and Vancouver Technical Secondary School.
The series is divided into 2 sub-series: Photographs (1904-1942?) and Textual records (1912-1942).

Records relating to individual British Columbia Provincial Police officers

Series consists of photographs and biographical information of British Columbia Provincial Police officers on and off duty as well as in retirement, and stories of their careers. Series includes some information relating to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, as many BCPP officers continued their careers with the RCMP when it took over responsibility for policing in British Columbia

Records relating to Innes’ paintings

Series consists of postcards of images of Innes’ paintings, programs and reviews from exhibits of his work in Vancouver, articles and pamphlets about his work, photographs of paintings, and sketches.

Records relating to World War II service

This series contains material associated with Ajaib’s World War II military service as an aircraft mechanic in Saskatchewan and the Yukon.

Recreational club records

Series consists of records related to the operations of recreational clubs. Activities and topics documented include the establishment of general club guidelines; objectives of the Athletic Clubs Council; and operations of the cricket, rugby, sailing, skiing, and soccer clubs. Predominant document types include correspondence, handbooks, statements of objectives, minutes, press clippings, rosters, schedules, club histories and statistics, photographs, news bulletins, rule books, and reports.

Red Bait: Struggles of a Mine Local

Series consists of record relating to Braid's work co-authoring (along with Al King) the book Red Bait: Struggles of a Mine Local. Series includes transcripts of interviews with Al and Lillian King, drafts, edits and comments to the manuscript by various reviewers, reviews, and Al King's obituary and associated notes.
