Project files and photographs

Sub-series consists of proposals, reports, correspondence, and photographs relating to projects both internal and external, undertaken or contributed to by the Canadian Farmworkers Union and its members. These projects include cultural events, educational programs, photography projects and exhibits, and documentary videos, as well as research-based awareness projects. Records include production and event photographs, planning documents, and reports.

Records in this sub-series include material relating to the films A Time to Rise (Uthan da Vaila) (1981), produced and directed by Anand Patwardhan and Jim Munro with assistance from the National Film Board (NFB), which documented the history of the farmworkers’ struggle and the Canadian Farmworkers Union; Farmworkers Zindabad! (1985), written and directed by Craig Berggold and Sukhwant Hundal, which dramatized the Hoss Farming Company strike of 1984; and To Pick is Not to Choose (1985), directed by John Greyson for Tolpuddle Farm Labour Information Centre in Ontario. Also included are records relating to the photography exhibits “A Time to Change: South Asian Farmworkers of the Fraser Valley” (originally created in 1983 and exhibited numerous times) and “I would like to tell you a story… Health & Safety Regulations NOW!” (1986) by Craig Berggold. The sub-series also includes records of a health and safety campaign as well as the Technology Impact Program (TIP), a research project which gathered information about pesticide use on berry farms in BC.

Project management files

Sub-series consists of records relating to the administration of certain TeleLearning projects by the Network's management office. Projects include the Portal for Online Objects in Learning (POOL); a TeleLearning legacy book and a research handbook and two initiatives funded by the Office of Learning Technologies (Human Resources Development Canada) -- "Training and mentoring of instructors and course authors for TeleLearning using Virutal-U" and "A framework of policy studies for telelearning technologies."

Records include proposals, contracts, agreements and memoranda of understanding, correspondence, reports, specifications, notes and working papers, budgets, spreadsheets, invoices, claim forms and supporting documentation. Record media include paper and electronic; electronic records are retained in their original software format (.doc).

Project Tomorrow program files

Sub-series comprises records relating to the development and delivery of the Project Tomorrow program. Project Tomorrow was initiated in 1992 as a series of seminars offered by SCWIST for parents, parent advisory committees and elementary school teachers designed to help them encourage and sustain the interest of girls in science and technology. Records consist of correspondence; reports; committee meeting minutes and supporting papers; grant applications and supporting documentation; presentation materials, transparencies and overheads; schedules and evaluations; contracts; handbooks and manuals; and publicity brochures.

Projects

Subseries consists of files on pertaining to various projects undertaken by the Society. These include the Delinquency Prevention Programme, What Breaking the Law Could Mean to You, conducted in high schools; the Seventh Step, a program of alcohol recovery based on Alcoholics Anonymous established specifically for inmates of correctional facilities, Alternative Measures, Family House, Hobden House, Prison sentence programs, Impaired drivers program, and the Citizen Participation Programme, aimed at getting the public interested and involved in correctional issues. The subseries also consists of proposals for other programs that may not have received funding.

Projects and activities files

Sub-series comprises records relating to projects and activities undertaken by the BCHPA according to its mandate and functions. Activities documented include the work of the Bee Forage Committee and the Education Committee; participation in educational programs, including the Malaspina College Apiculture program and a Tracheal Mite seminar; reports to the provincial Minister; promotions and exhibits, including participation in the Granville Island Public Market; production of a honey cookbook; advocacy and projects in formal and informal partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, including the BC Honeybee Stock Improvement Project and revisions to the Bee Act; and the early exploration of the possibility of commercial production of mead in BC. Records include correspondence, briefs and reports, drafts, minutes, brochures, and course-related material.

Projects and Functions

Sub-series consists of records relating to projects and functions carried out by Student Services. and includes correspondence with the campus community and external organizations. Activities documented include production of student handbooks; campus open house planning and anniversary events and orientation packages; student surveys and parent newsletters. Specific projects include developing campus services for handicapped and learning disabled students; the Futures program for high school students; administration of the Nightline crisis counselling service; overseeing the Leadership Development program along with related workshops and conferences; support for university choirs; policy and program development for the Alcohol and Drug Program and the sexual harassment prevention program; administration of the Work Study and Youth Employment Programs; and Stewart's membership on the Diamond Club Executive. Also included are records relating to the Interactive Videodisc Career Planning Project; the Challenge Program; and the University Centre Building and Food Services. Records include correspondence and working papers, agendas and minutes, budgets, reports, publications, and photographs.

Promotion and communication files

Sub-series consists of records relating to the promotion of Women's Centre programs and activities, the production of the Women's Centre newsletter and zine, and production of The Peak column "Surfacing." Records include posters, brochures, artwork, newsletters, and news clippings.

Promotion and marketing - general files

Sub-series consists of records relating to the general promotion and marketing of Press Gang titles. Activities, events and topics documented include tours, book launches, and book fairs. Records include correspondence, reviews, flyers, sales kits, and other documents.

Promotional materials

Sub-series consists of analogue and born-digital records created by Adbusters Media Foundation while promoting Blackspot sneakers and boots. Paper and analogue records include pamphlets, a "Blackspot manifesto," stickers, promotional photographs, and shareholder certificates. Born-digital records include advertisement graphics, promotional photographs, posters, coupons, stickers, gift cards, labels, shareholder certificates, T-shirt mockups, catalogues, promotional comics, and website mockups.

Promotional materials and reviews

Series consists of records relating to the promotion of the “Drawing the Line” exhibition, as well as articles about and reviews of the show. Records include pamphlets, promotional postcards, magazines, and newspaper clippings. Contains photocopied reproductions of several articles and reviews.

Provincial Apiarists' Association

Sub-series comprises copies of records of the meetings of the Provincial Apiarists' Association. The Association was established in 1952 as an organization of government apiary officials employed in provincial departments and ministries across Canada. It aimed to promote the scientific and practical efficiency of beekeeping, disseminate progressive ideas relating to apiculture, and secure cooperation among apiculturalists working in the country. The current status of the Association is not known. Records consist of proceedings of the Association's meetings in 1952 and 1958 and a 1959 report.
