Photographs and related materials

Series consists of various photographs collected by Betty Krawczyk. Series includes photographic prints of various sizes that document Krawczyk’s activities in community organizations, protests, prison, and her family. Some photographs have corresponding handwritten notes attached to them.

Personal subject files

Series is made up of clippings, photographs, correspondence and other records relating to Shackleton’s professional contacts, friends and family members. Records are organized in files named by the individual subject or in general/miscellaneous files.

Series consists of various research records, works of others, and works about Wah, as well as other types of related records, such as correspondence, used by Wah for both personal and professional purposes.

The records in this series have been arranged into the following two sub-series: Works about Wah, and General records.

Artistic material

Series consists of material relating to artistic works completed by those other than Blaser. Records include reproductions and prints, gallery posters, sheet music, brochures, book launch invitation, and a piece of a collage presumably created by Jack Spicer.

Video recordings

Series contains home movies on VHS, copies of video produced for the Al Neil Project in 2005, and one video reel recording of two Al Neil performances.

Series contains handwritten and typed manuscripts, notebooks, fragments, published writings by Al Neil, and writings and drawing by others. Series has been arranged into the following three sub-series: Original manuscripts ([196-?]–[before 2010]), Published writings ([1951]–1989), and Works of others (1965–1994).

Education

Series consists of course outlines, certificates, articles, print-outs of PowerPoint slides, and notes written by Betty Krawczyk when completing courses from the Institute of Indigenous Government concerning Aboriginal Women’s Studies. File also includes one Simon Fraser University course outline.

Eating fire

Series consists of sound recordings of interviews undertaken by Michael Riordon for Eating Fire: Family Life on the Queer Side (Between the Lines, 2001). Interviews were undertaken across Canada.

Photographs

Series consists of black and white and color print photographs, color photograph slides, and photograph negatives of Blaser and his family, friends, and colleagues. The series also includes print photographs and photograph negatives that belonged to James Felts, a former partner of Blaser’s. The series is divided into seven sub-series: Family print photographs; Blaser family friends print photographs; Friends of Robin Blaser print photographs; Photographs of Robin Blaser; General print photographs; Color slides; and Photograph negatives.

Professional service and activities records

Series consists of records relating to Wah's non-instructional professional activities and service, including his editorial work, his service on various groups and committees, his work as a judge for various literary prizes, his applications for grants, and related activities. Records include correspondence, works of others, and administrative records.

The records in this series have been arranged into the following three sub-series: Editorial records, The Writers' Union of Canada, and General records.

Travel souvenirs, notes, and ephemera

Series is made up of souvenirs, personal notes, and ephemera kept by French Shackleton from or about places she visited. Destinations include the U.K., Martinique, Mexico, the Bahamas, St. Kitts and New Orleans.

Administrative records and photographs

Series consists of administrative records of the British Columbia Provincial Police Veterans’ Association, photographs of members at reunions and meetings, and records related to the association’s involvement in remembering the BCPP through museum exhibits and memorial plaques. Most of this material is contained in four scrapbooks of photographs, newspaper clippings, and ephemera.

Writing records

Series consists of correspondence, notes, contracts, newspaper clippings and other records accumulated by Doris French Shackleton in her career as a broadcaster, journalist and freelance writer. Series has been arranged into the following four sub-series: Journalism and broadcasting records (1960-2000); Non-fiction works records (1943-1999); Fiction and poetry records (1963-2001); and General writing records ([194-]-1993).

Promotional material

Series consists of promotional materials for art exhibits, poetry readings, and music and play performances held by those other than Blaser, as well as press catalogs and announcements promoting book releases.

Photographs

Series consists of photographs documenting Al Neil’s family, wartime experiences, wedding to Marguerite Neil, cabin at Dollarton, public performances, exhibitions and artworks.
