University Computing Advisory Committee

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the deliberations and activities of the University Computing Advisory Committee (UCAC). UCAC reported to the VP Research. The VP Academic was a member of the committee, and the records in this sub-sub-series represent VP Academic's working files and copies of UCAC records.

SITE 1988: Global Issues

The theme of SITE 1988 was "Global Issues". Speakers recorded were Lucy McNeil (broadcaster), Robert Moore (Canadian International Development Agency), Milton McClaren (SFU), Fred Knelman, Stephen Owen, David Selby (University of York), and George McRobbie (University of Pennsylvania). Records consist of audio cassettes.

Sexual Harassment

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the administration and development of sexual harassment policies and women's safety programs on campus and includes correspondence with the campus community; funding requests; minutes of the Sexual/Physical Assault Committee, the Sexual Harassment Committee and the Sexual Harassment Policy Committee; campus incident reports; university responsibilities regarding sexual harassment; sexual harassment policies; and newspaper articles. Records include correspondence and working papers, agendas and minutes, reports, and publications.

External programs year-end reports

Following the faculty's 1972 re-organization, it initiated a series of "external programs" designed to offer components of the PDP program from sites outside the SFU Burnaby campus. External sites included Coquitlam, Vancouver, North Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Chilliwack, Kelowna, Kamloops, Penticton, Nelson, Vernon, Cranbrook, Salmon Arm, Mount Currie, Prince George, Dawson Creek, and Terrace. This sub-sub-series consists of the year-end annual reports summarizing the activities and administration of the various external programs.

SITE 1987

Speakers at SITE 1987 were Tom Schroeder (University of Calgary), Robby Fried (Brown University), Wanda Cassidy (SFU), Milton McClaren (SFU), Robert Walker (SFU), and Kim Campbell (MLA). Records consist of audio cassettes.

Sub-sub-series consists of a contract, royalties, notes, correspondence and publicity clippings related to “Powertown: Democracy Discarded,” by Doris French Shackleton, published in 1977 by McClelland & Stewart.

Executive Committee minutes

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to meetings and activities of the Glengarry Camp Executive Committee. Includes minutes of Executive Committee meetings (1958-1986), and notes taken at meetings, circa 1943 to 1949, regarding member information, Executive recommendations and motions, and other topics discussed at meetings. Records include minutes, minute books, and a note book.

Reports and studies

Sub-sub-series consists of papers and reports relating to the SFU PDP program collected by the Faculty of Education as a library and research reference resource. The papers include Director's reports, program proposals and evaluations, studies by faculty members on various topics relating to teacher education, interviews, and consultants in-service program reports (reviewing support provided to school associates supervising PDP students in the classroom-teaching component of the program).

Reading and Study Centre

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the daily administration of the Reading and Study Centre and establishment of the Study Skills Service after the Centre was closed. Records include program and workshop planning; budget and fee proposals; advertising in SFU Week and The Peak; development of the ESL and evening English language programs; correspondence with the university community; staff contracts; and a copy of the document "Report of the External Review Committee on the Reading and Study Centre at SFU." Records include correspondence and working papers, reports, financial papers, contracts, and publications including poster sand brochures.
