[Photographs of Anna Markova funeral]

This file consists of 93 black and white photographs taken at Anna Markova’s funeral in 1978. Anna Petrovna Markova, daughter of Peter P. Verigin (Chiastiakov) and mother of John J. Verigin, played important role in Doukhobor community and the USCC. The photographs depict the funeral ceremony in the community hall, funeral procession to the burial site, burial ceremony and various members of the community paying their respects.

This series consists of the personal and the Doukhobor community matters correspondence of P. V. Verigin sent to and received from various members of the CCUB.

This file contains letters and telegrams from Peter P. Verigin to J. Shukin discussing the business aspects of the Doukhobor settlement in Canada, letters from J. G. Bonderoff and G. Rozendorf; minutes of Convention of June 27, 1928 establishing parameters of Doukhoborism under guidance of P. P. Verigin; his speech delivered in Buchanan, Sask. on July 29, 1928 during observance of Peter's Day. Additional documents includes letters from ideologically like minded individuals like in Europe: Nikolai Khoven (Nice, France) and Nicolai Scheirman (Sweden); article by John G. Bonderoff; and account of P. P. Verigin dinner discussion in Sask, Nov. 14, 1928 recorded by V. A. Makoseev.

This file contains Peter P. Verigin's correspondence regarding changes suggested by him to Doukhobor beliefs, business, youth involvement, including new philosophy behind Named Doukhobors of Canada; reprimanding the Sons of Freedom; and recounting the CCUB delegates visit to Molokans in Oregon and California. This file contains P. P. Verigin's letters to Doukhobors still in USSR in Rostov Oblast and in Ukraine; letters to his daughter Anna and her husband Ivan Markov, to his son Peter P. Verigin II, his cousin Nikolay Kotelnikoff; Sask. CCUB manager M. Cazakoff's letter of resignation.

This file contains Peter P. Verigin correspondence and instructions to the CCUB business managers (Michael Cazakoff, A. Soukoreff, Michael Verigin) on how to proceed after his death, including the last will dictated to John Bonderoff.

Speeches, talks, writings, will

This series consists of mimeographed transcripts of speeches, interviews, talks, writings, messages and will of P. P. Verigin. Most of the records were transcribed/written down by individuals working with P. P. Verigin (transcriber is not always indicated). Some of the transcribers are: V. Sukharev, P. Biriukov, N. Dergaysov, I. Malov. There is only one handwritten message by Verigin himself. Verigin’s will was captured by Mikhail Verigin. In addition, this series includes photocopy of biographical manuscript of “Gloom shadow of Ivan the Terrible” that appears to be written by P.P. Verigin. Some of mimeographed records are original, some are photocopies. All records are in Russian except for some speeches that are supplied with handwritten translation in English.
