Writings

Series consists of records generated from Beaulieu’s work as an author, editor, academic and teacher. Records include research, correspondence, contracts, proofs at various stages of production, drafts, transcriptions and publications. Series is arranged into the following sub-series: Poetry and book files (1996–2014); Article files (1998–[before 2015]); Academic research and writings (1991–2014); Writings by students (2008–2015); Writings by others (2005–2013) and Handmade books ([before 2009]).

This series consists of unpublished writings of members of the Doukhobor community, book drafts, historical and prison accounts, statements, speeches, essays and research notes.

Series contains handwritten and typed manuscripts, notebooks, fragments, published writings by Al Neil, and writings and drawing by others. Writings

This series contains textual materials that Martin Bartlett wrote during the course of his career. Some are academic texts on composition and the use of electronics or tuning systems. Others are published works from yachting magazines, others are musings on the nature of art, beauty, and nature. There is also some information from grant applications and concert programs.

Verigin, brother of P. V. Verigin; speech of P. P. Verigin (Chiastiakov) (1954); an account: Kak i pochemu sgorel molebennyi dom – centr SDOKH na Grand Forkse by the Investigative Committee of CCBRD; speech of P. P. Verigin( 1934); open letter to Anna Markova from Fraternal Council of CCBRD (1978); a declaration to J. J. Verigin. Many documents are not dated.

This sub-series consists of various writings created by the members of Sons of Freedom that illustrate their approach to life and their beliefs. This sub-series includes: songs texts, writings, letters, resolutions, speeches, messages, essays, addresses, protocol, and appeal. In many cases authorship and date of the documents are unknown. Known authors include: A. W. Efanov (Freedomite, “intellectual”, protester and probably an arsonist) and Florence Potapoff. The records are in Russian and/or English; some are handwritten and some printed.

This file consists of writings, messages, clipping and report. It includes: a report “New Settlement land dispute: the struggle against assimilation” by Joseph Ogloff; messages to community by J. Ogloff; and compilation of various writing by Doukhobors titled “Letters and messages from father to son” [free translation] mostly dated in 1940s.

This file consists of 40 pages of compilation of writings directed to the Doukhobor community relating to the Doukhobor history and beliefs, leadership of Yastrebov (Sorokin instead of P. P. Verigin III) and other similar matters. It includes excerpts from Iskra and other publications, open letter to J. J. Verigin, some correspondence. It also includes a writing titled “Who’s who at these symposiums?” by Fraternal Council of the CCBRD.

This sub-series consists of the reports, writings, speeches, talks, addresses, mandate, manual, texts of songs created on behalf of the CCUB by its executive members. These documents relate to the history and ideology of the Doukhobor communities and its leaders and were written for the benefit of the communities. This sub-series contains both original mimeographed and manuscript documents as well as photocopies of documents. Most documents are in Russian and a few in English.

This series consists of various writings of Stephan Sorokin, including essays, notes, and a draft of his book written under the pseudonym Pantes Kiroson and titled: Three days and three nights of life beyond the grave. This series also includes Sorokin’s spiritual messages to the Reformed Doukhobor and the Sons of Freedom.

This file consists of song text, message, appeal, protocol, list of documents, resolution and clipping. It includes an appeal to the brotherhood of working people by the Russian anti-military movement; a prophetical message; a resolution of the Sons of Freedom in regards to their children’s education; an anonymous letter considering the Russian Eastern Orthodox and Doukhobor beliefs as well as a list of documents created by the Sons of Freedom between years 1928-1951.

This series consists of the Doukhobor writings in various formats including: journals, dairies, notebooks, manuscripts, addresses to the community, notes, narratives, philosophical writings, song texts, letters, speeches, articles, newspaper clippings, excerpts and other types. These records reveal Doukhobor personal experiences as immigrants, their views on politics, religion and ideology, and their way of life. Some of these accounts are written by identified individual members of the Doukhobor community and many are anonymous.

Series consists of records relating to the writing and editing activities of James Delgado throughout his professional career. It includes correspondence with publishers, editors, co-authors, and other stakeholders regarding the publication of books and articles, reports written for university assignments and for his employers, writings drafts, articles, book covers, and research records. Series also includes publicity records and reviews of Delgado's books.

The series has been arranged into the following six sub-series: Books and publication records ([197-]-2011), Reports (1977-1992), Correspondence (1980-2008), Article drafts ([before 1990?]-2001), Published articles (1979-2004), and Publicity records and reviews (1991-2006).
