Sub-sub-series consists primarily of photocopied material on prominent members of the SFU community including administrators, faculty and students (for list, see "Access points"). Subjects, events and activities documented include academic freedom; academic planning; the PSA affair; faculty associations; recruitment of department heads; faculty appointments and the Teaching Assistants affair. Sub-sub-series contains a diary of the daily activities of George Suart, appointed as SFU’s first Vice-President for Administration in 1968. Sub-sub-series also contains memoranda; reports; bulletins; cartoons; correspondence; printed emails; interview transcriptions; magazine and newspaper articles; working papers; and curriculum vitae.

Files on subjects

Sub-sub-series consists primarily of photocopied material relating to the history of Simon Fraser University. Subjects, events and activities documented include academic planning; academic freedom, tenure and promotion; student activism; student and faculty affairs; faculty-administration relations; the crisis in post-secondary education; the PSA affair; the development of several academic departments; the development of the Teaching Support Staff Union (TSSU); the trimester system; and the overall growth and expansion of the university and its programs. Sub-sub-series includes memoranda; newspaper articles; minutes; discussion papers; printed emails; correspondence; journal articles; book excerpts; reports; annual reports; statistics; working papers; and an honors essay.

Financial Aid

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the daily administration of the Financial Aid Office on campus and includes correspondence with students, clubs, and government organizations regarding funding, staff positions and program development; budgets, policies and procedures; adjudication documents regarding scholarships, awards, bursaries and emergency loans to students; and reports from the Senate Committee on Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries and the University Review Committee on Financial Aid. Records include correspondence and working papers, financial statements, statistics, reports, and newspaper clippings.

Fish products research

Sub-subseries consists of records relating to George Halpern's research for the Canadian Fishing Company. Includes correspondence, research diaries, lab reports, publications, and other documents.

Food Services

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the daily administration of Food Services on campus and includes correspondence with food services company vendors and the on-site staff of Servomation and Beaver; contracts, proposals, and development plans; Food Services Committee working papers; financial statements; policies and procedures; and campus concerns regarding menus, food quality, prices, and dining space. Reports include "SFU Food Services Study," "Review of Food Services for SFU," "Food Services Report," and "A Study of Aspects of Food Services at SFU." Records include correspondence and working papers, minutes, financial reports and budgets, and legal contracts.

Futures Program

Sub-sub-series consists of records relating to the administration of the Futures Program, a conference developed for high school students to learn more about SFU and career paths after university education and includes correspondence with the campus community, high school counsellors and students; conference brochures and promotional materials; registration forms and statistics; orientation tour questionnaires; session planning and development documents; interview summaries, and post-conference surveys. Records include correspondence and working papers, reports, surveys and publications.
