Cumberland 1912-1915 notes and research records

Sub-series consists of Stonebanks’ notes and research records relating to Ginger Goodwin’s life for the period of time he lived in Cumberland, 1912-1915. Records include reproduced research records from various sources, correspondence, and notes about sources consulted. Research materials in this sub-series were used primarily for chapters 3 and 4 of Stonebanks’ book.

This sub-series consists of records documenting the content and evaluation standards of courses offered by the School. Records include course outlines and descriptions; directed studies proposals; reading lists and slide lists; examination, assignment and essay questions; lecture schedules and outlines; memoranda and instructors' reports. For some courses in the performing arts, instructors' evaluations of students have been preserved as evidence of evaluation methods. Some teaching material has been retained (e.g. glossaries, lecture notes), but reprints of articles have not been preserved. The sub-series does not include course administration records (e.g. enrollment lists, grade lists, book requisition forms, grade change forms, registration status reports, waiting lists, add / drop forms, lab fee notices, student directories). Note that record types found in the files vary considerably from course to course.

Counselling Services

Sub-series consists of records relating to the daily administration of Counselling Services and the Vice-President's correspondence with Counselling personnel and the university community; development of counselling progams, service policies and procedures regarding the disclosure of student information; and budget and space planning. Records include correspondence and working papers, annual reports, financial statements, statistics, and publications.

Correspondence with writers

Series consists of letters and emails with fellow writers regarding a wide variety of writing-related issues, including reviewing others poems and having her poems reviewed. Correspondents include George McWhirter, Joy Kogawa, PK Page, Lynne Bowen, Patrick Lane, Lorna Crozier, Sandy Shreve, and a host of other fellow poets and mentors.

Correspondence with parents

Sub-series consists of Ann Messenger's correspondence with her parents, Raymond and Lillian Parshall. Correspondence includes letters written to her parents while she was studying at Oberlin College, Oxford University, and Cornell University. Correspondence also includes letters written while Messenger was working at Princeton University and after her marriage to Bill Messenger, while living in Philadelphia, California, and Vancouver, British Columbia. Includes details of Messenger's daily activities, including social and academic activities, her experiences as a young woman in the 1950s and 1960s, travels in Europe, and the general culture of the time. Vancouver correspondence refers to Ann and Bill's experiences as young professors at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. Sub-series also includes letters written to Ann, and Bill, by her parents between 1957 and 1974.

Sub-series contains incoming and outgoing correspondence between Skinner and Al Hart. Hart was first Skinner's editor at various publishers and later he was her literary agent.

This sub-series contains incoming and outgoing correspondence between June Skinner and agents; both literary agents and her Hollywood agent. Content mostly relates to June's attempts at getting novels published, rejection notices, and details about her books that were being published.

Correspondence to P.P. Verigin

This sub-series consists of the correspondence sent to P. V. Verigin by various members of the CCUB, including: M. Streliaev, I. Shukin, V. Ribin, P. Biriukov, V. Bonch-Bruevich, I. Tregubov, I. Gorbunov-Posadov, G. Rezendort. Some letters refer to the planned arrival of Peter P. Verigin in Canada, others to matters of the Doukhobor leadership. Also, includes correspondence from War Resisters International. All correspondence in this sub-series is mimeographed; some records are originals and some are photocopies. All records are in Russian.

Sub-series consists of correspondence of writer Stan Persky, who was a close friend of Blaser. Records include handwritten and typed correspondence.
