Interviews for a previous solidarity movement essay

During 1984, while Poole was a student at SFU, he wrote an essay on the solidarity movement, Progressive Activism and the Solidarity Movement: Towards a Radical Perspective. Interviewees were chosen from a number of left-wing activists who had been directly involved with the solidarity struggle or who had followed it closely. Sub-series includes 1 file listing interviewees and the sound recordings of the interviews.

Sub-series consists of records relating to recommendations Daphne Marlatt has written for others and literary competitions she has judged. Records include letters of recommendation, correspondence, poems from other writers, notes, and administrative records.

Beer and brewery guide books and directories

Sub-series consists of Rowling's collection of beer and brewery guidebooks. Items arranged alphabetically by author. Copies of the books by Leo Buijs, Jack Erickson, Michael Jackson and Joe Wiebe are signed by the author.

Events records

Sub-series consists of invitations, promotional material and other records relating to events put on by Granville Island Brewing and Granville Island in general, including the brewery launch party on June 9, 1984, anniversary celebrations and beer launches. Also included are postcards for the German Pavilion at Expo 86, which served Granville Island beer.

Sub-series consists of records relating to specific courses taught by Wah. Records are primarily related to his work at the University of Calgary, though one file contains records relating to a course given at the University of Regina. Records include course syllabi and assignments, course readings, enrolment records, and student work.

Subseries consists of bound notebooks which contain notes and drafts of course work, poetry, books, chapbooks, essays, interviews, reviews, columns, teaching, and talks.

Policy information books

This sub-series contains books researched and created by Social Credit Caucus Research with intent to provide a ready reference for local candidate debates and engagement with local opposition candidates. These books contain researched policy points from both Government and the Opposition party (NDP). A series of books were issued in 1982 and then in 1984. The research materials were obtained by the donor from the NDP Conventions and passed on to BC Social Credit Caucus in Victoria. In addition, this sub-series contains study reports on various policy areas and other party projects material.

Photographs

Sub-series consists of photographs (many of which were taken by Mitch Taylor) documenting Granville Island Brewing’s construction and opening; staff and partners; customers; store, brewing equipment and supplies; brewery truck; beer and other products; and general activities. Includes photographs of Mitch Taylor and his daughters Jillian and Lydia. Item level descriptions were provided by Mitch Taylor in 2023.

This sub-series contains records related to general environmental, wilderness and biodiversity issues across Canada and in other location in the world. The issues mentioned include: pesticide, poisons, pollution, endangered animal and plant species, garbage and recycling, and ecosystems conservation issues. The records include reports, articles, news items, correspondence, brochures, ephemera, maps, photographs, and samples.

B. Clayman Vice-President, Research/Dean of Graduate Studies records

Series consists of records relating to Bruce Clayman's dual appointment as Vice-President, Research and Dean of Graduate Studies. Records include general graduate studies program correspondence and specific correspondence on VISA students, graduate studies budget planning, tuition fees, and departmental review. Records also include Clayman's involvement on the Graduate Issues Committee, the Western Canadian Deans of Graduate Studies, and the Graduate Survey Implementation Task Force.

Document types include correspondence and working papers, minutes, reports and financial working papers.
