Committee records

Series consists of records and meeting minutes pertaining to Occupy Vancouver committees: General Assembly, Volunteer Coordinating Committee, Info Tent, Security and Safe Guard Unit. It includes also Occupy Vancouver leaflets, booklets, by-laws and general records related to day-to-day activities.

Photographs and moving images

Series consists of nine photographs of the same Occupy Vancouver group of activists taken from different angles and one photograph of a single protester. It also includes eighteen digital videos and fifty digital photographs taken on October 15, 2011 by Sue Wilson with images related to the Raging Grannies, activists’ activities, policemen, posters and media.

Fiction - drama records

Series consists of records relating to dramatic works Daphne Marlatt has written or contributed to. Records include drafts, correspondence, administrative documents, production material, advertisements and research records.

The series has been arrange into the following three sub-series based on dramatic work: "The Portside" records (2007-2011), "The Gull" records (2000-2009), and "Shadow Catch" records (2010-2011).

Court case records

Series consists of records related to the court case between the City of Vancouver and Sean O’Flynn-Magee, Jane Doe, John Doe and other unknown persons. It includes: affidavits of Garrick Bradshaw, Penny Ballem, Murray Wightman, Frank Dodich, John McKearney, Cael Hopwood, Brenda Proksen, Blake Chersinoff, and Will Johnston; short leave requisition; notice of civil claim; and notice of application.

Legal records and related materials

Series consists of legal reports, court statements, affidavits, legal notices, court speeches, financial papers, request forms, behavioral reports, and government correspondence with Betty Krawczyk. Series also contains research Krawczyk performed while preparing for her court cases. There are numerous copies of diverse legal acts and other court case examples from throughout North America.

Newspaper clippings and media coverage

Series consists of newspaper clippings, articles from magazines, print-outs of online articles, flyers for the Burnaby Correctional Institute for Women Library, pamphlets, newsletters, associated correspondence, and press releases related to Betty Krawczyk’s environmental activities, prison sentence, and court case. Reviews of Betty’s published works are included in the series. Series also contains print copies of Betty’s blog posts. There is coverage of various community activism groups, including aboriginal issues in British Columbia. Some of the records are photocopies and photographs.

CKVU records

Series consists of correspondence, photographs, promotional material, magazine and newspaper articles, and other material accumulated by Norman Klenman relating to his and Daryl Duke’s establishment, ownership and management of CKVU-TV. Includes records relating to the 1975 application to the CRTC; programming, events and staffing issues; and the takeover of the station by CanWest in 1987.

Literary events and publication

Series documents the publication and critical reception of Stanley’s work and his interaction with the broader literary community.

Series includes: correspondence, financial records, contracts, and sound recordings of readings.

Writing records

Series consists of records relating to the writing and editing activities of James Delgado throughout his professional career. It includes correspondence with publishers, editors, co-authors, and other stakeholders regarding the publication of books and articles, reports written for university assignments and for his employers, writings drafts, articles, book covers, and research records. Series also includes publicity records and reviews of Delgado's books.

The series has been arranged into the following six sub-series: Books and publication records ([197-]-2011), Reports (1977-1992), Correspondence (1980-2008), Article drafts ([before 1990?]-2001), Published articles (1979-2004), and Publicity records and reviews (1991-2006).

Interviews

Series consists of transcripts of interviews conducted with Mootoo about her life and work.
Related material may be found in the Audio-visual material sub-series, which contains recordings of interviews with Mootoo. Dates suggest, however, that they do not correspond to the transcripts in this series.

Research and advocacy records

Series consists of research material relating to a number of issues the Canadian Farmworkers Union investigated in order to provide information to workers, provide support to other groups, and publicly advocate for awareness and change. Subjects include the regulation and safe handling of pesticides, workers’ rights and occupational safety legislation, and general labour and minority rights. Records include newspaper clippings, journal articles, publicity materials, photographs of workers and events, awareness and event posters, worker housing blueprints, bumper stickers, and other ephemera.

The series is arranged into four sub-series: Pesticides subject files and photographs (1979-1994); Occupational health and safety subject files and photographs ([197-]-2011); Labour and rights movements subject files (1979-1998); and General subject files (1979-1993).

Teaching records

This series consists of the writings, notes, songs texts, clippings, chapters, flyers, booklets, correspondence and articles prepared for Sunday school teachings, for lecture series at Selkirk College and for other teaching events.

This series is divided into two sub-series: 1: Selkirk College; 2: General lectures.

"A Road for Canada" - Daniel Francis

This series is comprised of records related to the conception and publication of the book “A Road for Canada: the Illustrated Story of the Trans-Canada Highway” published in 2006.
The series is divided into the following 6 sub-series: Drafts, proofs and edits (2003-2006), Project development and correspondence (2003-2010), Post-production, promotions, and reviews (2006-2011), Image copyright requests and agreements (2005-2006), Images collected for use in "A Road for Canada" ([ca. 2006]), and Research conducted for "A Road for Canada" ([2003-2006?]).

Correspondence

Series consists of Peter Trower’s incoming and outgoing correspondence. Includes correspondence with family, friends, other writers, publishers, fans, media personnel, and granting agencies.

Photographs

Series consists of negatives, contact sheets, photographs and slides.

Archival documents and research notes

Series consists of photocopied and microfilmed archival documents generated by government bodies, copies of photographs, and handwritten research notes. Records include correspondence (including private letters of South Asians in North America, acquired through government surveillance), as well as telegrams, reports, press clippings from government department files (Canadian, British, Indian and American), and from Governors General files, Prime Ministers' files, and publications.

Records are from Canadian, British, Indian and American archives, primarily from Library and Archives Canada. MsC 183-0-3-0-0-6 contains a guide to most of these materials. The archival reference and origin is written or stamped on each document.

Ephemera

Series consists of posters, flyers, ticket stubs, leaflets, handbills, guides, and pamphlets.

Writing

Series consists of written works by Thesen. Materials include cassette tapes, handwritten notes, drafts, unpublished works, typescripts/manuscripts of poetry, prose, articles, reviews, cassette tapes, interviews, book cover proofs, notebooks, and other materials. The series is divided into the following three sub-series: Drafts, Edits & Typescripts, Reviews & Interviews and Awards: Judging and Nominations.

Administrative records - general

This series is primarily comprised of business records related to the general business activities of Judith Marcuse Projects (and all associated identities), including contracts, annual reports and meeting minutes. In some cases there is overlap with a file containing general documents as well as project-specific ones; in those instances the file was assigned to the series appropriate to the majority of content.

"Waterfront" - James Delgado

This series is comprised of records related to the conception and publication of the book “Waterfront: the Illustrated Maritime Story of Greater Vancouver” published in 2005. In 2006, “Waterfront” shared the BC Book Prize for Booksellers’ Choice award.

The series is divided into the following 7 sub-series: Drafts, proofs and edits (2003-2005), Agreements and contracts (2008), Project development and correspondence (2004-2005), Post-production, promotions, and reviews (2005-2010), Image copyright requests and agreements (2011-2013), Images collected for use in "Waterfront" (2011) and Research conducted for "Waterfront" (2003-2011).

Images

Series contains photographs, (including prints, contact sheets, negatives and slides) created or compiled by James Delgado relating to his professional and personal activities. Images relate to his archaeological and maritime work, writing, and his personal life.
The series has been divided into the following three sub-series: Photographs (1975-2008), Titanic images ([2000?]), and Slides (1969-[before 2010]).

Typeface design

Series consists of material related to Rimmer’s design and production of typefaces for both the Rimmer Type Foundry and the Lanston Type Company. Records include preliminary sketches, drawings in ink and pencil, transparencies, samples, digital print-outs, electronic files, master patterns, specimen castings, matrices, lead working patterns, and cast metal sorts. Some files contain notes and instructions for modification, and some include explanatory comments written by Rimmer. Electronic files were created by Rimmer on a Macintosh computer using the typeface design software IKARUS and saved to 3.5" floppy disks and compact discs.

Personal records

Series consists of articles, correspondence, and other material pertaining to the career and projects of Norman Klenman, his family and his colleagues. Includes material relating to CKVU television, his partnerships with Daryl Duke and William (Bill) Davidson, and the film "Now that April’s Here." Series also contains some autobiographical material written by Klenman, with emphasis on the chronology of his career.

Editorial work

Series consists of magazines and art catalogues in which Robertson was editor or co-editor.

Series consists of photocopies, magazines, zines, art catalogues, books, chapbooks, and clippings used for research in writing various essays, articles, columns, and poetry. Includes correspondence.
